Stake Land

Man this might as well be the best vampire film since 30 Days of Night. They took the zombie apocalypse genre and the vampire genre and fused them together and made it work by having strong characters. It's got the same intensity from reading the Walking Dead comics. I give this a strong recommendation and if you are a horror fan, you are a fool for not seeing this.
9.5/10

Last movie that I'm seeing for the first time? Or just last movie in general. In general I was watching office space before work today.

Captain Philips
8.5/10
Brilliant performance from Hanks.

White House Down

I actually prefer Olympus Has Fallen a little bit more.

The Lovely Bones, that was a great movie, how come I had never seen it? Stanley Tucci, wow.

Jack the Giant Slayer

Not a bad movie, better than the reviews would indicate but not all that great either. The CG was obvious even for what was going to be a CG-heavy movie and the story followed the typical tropes right up to the end.

I still liked it, worth renting and seeing once but not owning. It also felt like there was a potential opening for a sequel but clearly that won't happen now but it also ended on a note of finality so it doesn't leave the audience wondering.

Captain Phillips

It may be the most intense biopic in years, both Tom Hanks and the actor who played Muse were terrific. I don't think I've ever seen a display of somebody in shock better than Tom Hanks. It may be long but once it gets to the pirating it doesn't feel long at all. Despite the shaky camera work at times, overall it's one of the best films this year.
9/10

Runner Runner

To put it simply, it's got a great cast but the story is lazy and bland. If you want to see what Ben Affleck might look like as a evil Bruce Wayne... and if you want to see Gemma Arterton be a Bond Girl again, this film is for you.
5.5/10

10/10

Very suspenseful film. Chloe Grace Moretz gives a breathtaking performance.

I liked that although I thought the original was better.

Army of Darkness, the Director's Cut.

I saw the original one like 20 years ago, so I can't even say how different this is, but it was one of those bizarre movies that are better enjoyed than analyzed.
