3 Days to Kill - not impressed. I'm mad this was at the top of my Netflix queue.

The Dark Knight. I still say it totally should have won Best Picture

2008 was the year of the snub. The Dark Knight, WALL-E, The Wrestler, and Gran Torino ... All Oscar-worthy films. I think it's ridiculous that none of them were nominated for Best Picture. It also tells me that Heath Ledger's Oscar was based on politics rather than merit for his performance. Don't get me wrong, he freakin' deserves that Oscar, but I highly doubt the Academy would view his performance in the same light if he were still alive. That's because the Academy is full of you-know-what.

The nominations that year (The Reader, Frost/Nixon, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Milk), along with the Best Picture winner (Slumdog Millionaire), were all movies that I hated. I get that Slumdog Millionaire was supposed to mimic the Bollywood style ... But I still find it to be a really, really ugly-looking movie; to the point where it took me out of it completely. If Michael Bay gets criticized for oversaturated colors in his films, then this movie should get the same treatment. At least it does from me. :oldrazz:

A Thousand Words. It was okay.

I enjoyed all of those movies over what was nominated too.

Sex Tape (2014)-4.5/10

God, this was terrible. Terrible excuse for a comedy.

August: Osage County

Damn, I really liked this movie

Lone Survivor

This movie was incredibly hard to watch. There are two events that will stay with me for the rest of my life. The bombing of the USS Cole because I could have been on that ship, and Operation Red Wings because I was stationed with one of the last squadrons of the UH-60 during this time (before the Navy phased them out and replaced them with the Knighthawk).

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

How have I never watched this before?! Loved it

4.5/5 Another great film by Paul Thomas Anderson.

3/5 Wasn't all that bad and it had a nice Lovecraft vibe going on.

3.5/5 Fun film although a bit silly at times.

4/5 I actually enjoyed the hell out of this despite mainly hearing bad things over the years.

3.5/5 This film as well as the second one are guilty pleasures. Practical effects are pretty good but the CGI is pretty godawful. Then again, this was made in 1997.

3.5/5 Would have given it a 4 but my wife and I could easily tell where the missing unrated footage was cut out. In some scenes they didn't even try to make it a smooth cut. If Scream Factory can't get that cut footage for the upcoming double pack Blu-ray with the original Tales From the Crypt film, I'm going to skip it sadly.

1/5 Absolutely terrible. I think most horror fans know that Romero, Carpenter and Argento have lost their way as they've become older, but this Argento film was garbage. Out of the three famous horror director's I listed, Argento now takes the prize as the one who has fallen the most. :( Only good thing about this film was a couple of breast shots. I had to watch this next movie to wash the taste out of my mouth.

3.5/5 I still love this movie. Pretty much the only criticism I agree with is that Keanu was terrible but other than that I enjoy watching this from time to time.

Movie theater: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (excellent)

TV: Riddick (fun, but far from a great movie)

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

I have nothing to say against this movie.

10/10
