Another teen slasher movie like Friday with some recognizable faces (Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter, Fisher Stevens), some amazing special effects, good suspense. It doesn't quite reach 'good' status, but it is close.
Taming The Horse - Chinese documentary about essentially a clearly messed-up individual. Kinda interesting, but the person who the documentary*follows clearly has some issues. Mixed bag. - 6*/ 10
I thought it was mostly enjoyable. It's a dark comedy that tries to be a bit like American Psycho, but done as a coming of age drama. This is pretty much a great acting exercising for Olivia Cooke, Anya Taylor Joy, and the late Anton Yelchin. It's a quiet movie, but there's some really interesting direction that keeps you invested. However, I do think the plot could have been better. Especially towards the 3rd act. 7.5/10
Tomb Raider (2018)
It's very middle of the road, which I guess is progress for the video game genre? The movie has ever origin cliche imaginable, even down to the ending. They also do a moment checklist that calls back to the game. I will say, I did appreciate Alicia Vikander for doing her best with what she was given. But there's nothing in here that makes it stand out from the hundreds of other adventure movies. All in all, it's a video game movie that plays it too safe to be interesting or have you wanting more. 6/10
