War Horse - 10/10

This is why I love Spielberg. As I've said with Tintin, he's able to really bring out the joy and optimism of why we still go to the movies. War Horse is an endearing story about someone who needs to find their way back home. It's a wonder how the horse journies through all of violence and war that surrounds him, but somehow he manages it, while touching each person's hearts they encounter along the way. It touched mine as well. I remember when this was announced and I questioned Spielberg, but now I see why he chose it. There's such beauty in it. I haven't gotten tears in my eyes in a movie theater since Toy Story 3.

Oh, and the actors are all superb. Seing Tom Hiddelston and Benedict Cumberbatch act alongside each other was a real treat, as Cumberbatch is the man.

In a pretty underwhelming year of movies all around, I'm so glad I could cap this film off as the last movie I'll be seeing this year. Two Spielberg movies a week apart is just a big treat to me.

6 or 7/10

Not nearly as bad as it's reputation suggests, I find it watchable.

Classic WWII espionage thriller with a great concept, superb location, quality leads, good action and a killer twist! 10/10

Tom Selleck really is superb as the straight forward on the outside but complex on the inside cop. The two cases here are solid and it's laid back viewing as Jesse goes about putting the pieces together in his own unorthodox way. 7/10

Tom Selleck is underrated.

Last film I watched - Wall-E

8/10
Very heartwarming story with extremely likable characters.

2.5/5

I love Scorsese and all but this film had some terrible half assed acting in it.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall--8.5/10

Like all the better Apatow-produced films, it has really good characters and a ton of funny lines. I especially liked the cutaway/flashback scenes.

Observe and Report--7.5-8/10

Very dark; even darker than I expected. For the most part, the darkness works to the advantage of the film's shock-based humor. Sometimes it gets borderline disturbing, and it takes awhile for the main character's development to sink in, but when it does, it's good.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. 9/10 Can't go wrong with Leone.
