The Corpse Bride.

It's good, but anything compared to The Nightmare Before Christmas seems mediocre. Although, on my rewatch of it, the chemistry between Depp and Bonham Carter is pretty impressive. Especially for an animated movie.

Hunger Games: a very good Sci-fi action thriller that is true to the novel and very much like Battle Royale in some ways but not as disturbing as that film.

Oliver and Company: Who remembers this movie? i did when i was 7 seeing it 4 times in theaters when i was a kid in it's old release in the late 80s and i had the merchandise such as the Mcdonalds toys, the singing ornaments, CD soundtrack which i still own, stuffed Oliver from sears, a readalong book with cassette, junior novel, a jar with Oliver and Dodger on it and all that. A shame it never came out on video next year or for 7 years for i wanted it but it finally did in 96, i enjoy this movie for the nostalgia of growing up in such carefree days and one of my favorite disney films.

Battle Royale Director's Cut on R1 Blu-Ray: FINALLY the US has finally gotten Battle Royale and had the R0 DVD for years since 2003 and i now have it in it's 3-disc collection, this is a Sci-fi action cult classic from Japan that kicks ass and a must see.

Punisher: War Zone

First time. I had a ****ing blast. So much fun. I can't wait to show it to my wife.

Day of the Dead (1985): 3.5/5

A pretty decent zombie film.

I'm finishing a Saw-athon today. Interesting saga, if only the writing was better...

Season of the Witch- Watchable because of the absurdity of the Cage

I knew what I was in for when the first shot of the film was Ron Perlman looking bored sheeitless. Not to mention Cage keeping an American accent!

Donnie Darko (10/10 still after 10 years :))

Has anyone else ever been watching a movie and wished you could erase your memory and watch it for the first time again?

That's how I feel about Donnie Darko. I was 14/15 when I first saw it and I didn't really get it, nor did I pick up on all the things that really make it a wonderful film. But then I guess that's why I never tire of it... I'm always discovering more things I didn't notice about it.

Alien

Still a pretty good film with excellent designs but the guy in a suit thing doesn't hold up. It makes it less scary to my adult eyes.

Forced Vengeance

9/10

Awesome Chuck Norris film about avenging loved ones.

Limitless - 8/10

I really regret dismissing this film when it came out. It exceeded my preconceptions thankfully. A very smart, fun and fast paced film that has real life and energy to it. All thanks to the unique style of director Neal Burger and the quick to the point script, which uses the good kind of narration to keep the story moving. I was always interested. And DeNiro is very good in this film with Bradley Cooper, who has the weight of the film and its concept on his shoulders. He truly proves himself to be much more of an actor than just being the go to guy in comedies. I also loved the ending. Now I have more of a desire for Burger and Cooper to reunite on an Uncharted film.

Not to mention the hilarious pronunciation of the name Debelzeq. From Nic Cage it makes it even funnier.

And the salt shaker looking battle helmets. :lmao:

Sucker Punch Extended Cut on Blu-Ray: Better than the first cut, this is a fun dazzling action-fantasy-thriller in the tradition of Heavy Metal, Brazil, Baron Munchausen, Labyrinth and Return to Oz with lots of sexy ladies, action abound and imagination, a genuine new cult fave.

The Muppets on Blu-Ray: Saw this 5 times in theaters and my fave movie of the year! i grew up with the muppet movies, muppet babies, reruns of the Muppet Show and all that and was surprised how they brought back the magic of the muppets.
