Superman vs The Elite

Saw this yesterday, I wasn't sure what I was expecting but after 10 or so mins I knew it was going to be great. It was an old school Superman with his morals in question among the people. Worth watching for those that are kinda sick and tried for the "new edgy" superheroes recently.

I absolutely loved it. :hrt:

I don't understand what was so divisive about the movie. As for the "questions" that the movie supposedly leaves open well I feel that it actually answered a good deal of them. The most important one too.

It's pretty clear that these "engineers" have different factions and philosophies towards life and terraforming. The one we saw in the beginning was willing to sacrifice itself to give birth to life. It had no fear of death.

While the one that was in cryo in the weapons manufacturing "facility" had a great fear of dying (holograms of them running from their own weapons and the one that chased after Shaw struggled for its life against the proto-Xenomorph). Clearly the latter group of Space Jockeys weren't happy with the decision with creating life on earth thus sending those WMD to earth to eliminate the life the self sacrificial and seemingly more benevolent faction of Jockey had given Earth.

I was wholly satisfied with this movie and the set up for the sequel is interesting to say the least. I feel Ridley will further elaborate on the clashing views from different factions of Jockey if Shaw ever reaches their home planet. Shaw kept wondering why they created humans and then wanted to destroy them. Well the answer is fairly simple. The Jockeys are no different than us just like Earth where we have people with different religions/philosophies & cultures. The more militarized faction just didn't agree with the other group and their decision to give Earth life.

Guess they can go further into the schism between the two in the sequel.

A Thousand Words - 6/10

Okay, but got a bit irritating in places, and it was just completely illogical that you'd go to work pretending you were fine if talking could kill you... You'd at least use a few words to say you have laryngitis!

You Only Live Twice -- 2.5/5
I finally witnessed the first full appearance of the legendary Blofeld. I had no idea he was played by Pleasence, lol.
Next week I'm gonna watch the first Bond movie without Connery... too bad, I liked him. Oh well.

Le silence de Lorna -- 2/5
I'm not educated enough (actually, I'm probably not educated at all, lol) in cinema to appreciate this kind of movies. I mean it was good, but I just... didn't care for it.

American Pie Reunion 6/10

I went to see American Pie at the cinema with a friend of mine who is around ten years younger than I.
He thought it was hilarious, I didn't laugh once. I guess that shows there really is a generation gap after all...

THAT'S MY BOY

There are probably only a handful of comedic actors or writers who have the balls to take on the subject of a young student and
teacher tryst that leads to the teacher being impregnated.Sure Lifetime has produced a few dramas on the subject
but THAT'S MY BOY is definitley not a T.V movie
It's a raunchy to the 100th power ,humorous look at the before and after unions that seem to be happening daily across the U.S.

Donny Berger (Justin Weaver) has an affair with his 22-year-old teacher, Mary McGarricle (the gorgeous Eva Amurri).
She goes to jail leaving Donny and his father to raise Han Solo Berger/Todd Petersen(Andy Samberg)
In 2012, Donny (Adam Sandler) finds himself owing the IRS 43 grand,so he looks up Han/Todd for the cash a few days
before his wedding.

TMB has an extremely funny start, and there is a one liner that you will likely never hear in a film again, but whats odd is that when
one joke works attempts are made to extend it into 15 minute scene that becomes annoying instead of funny.
Samberg who was so inventive on Saturday Night Live,is the straight man for 95% of the film to the antics of Sandler and
a who's who of SNL and stand up comedy.
20 minutes should have been cut from the film which starts to feel far to long once the laughs stop.
Wait for cable

There are 3 different on-screen Blofelds for 3 different movies, and the guy who plays him when you never see his face is yet another different guy. Consistency in casting is not a forté of the Bond franchise.

Brother convinced me to watch Crank 2: High Voltage.

Terrible film even by fun b-movie standards. I can see the Troma film influence on these guys but this one was just annoyingly bad. Perhaps the charm of films like those is the lesser budget make it's more enjoyable to me, this movie LOOKS good but tries to not BE good and the disconnection between the two to me was jarring.

The Gods Must Be Crazy 10/10

Funniest movie I've ever seen

Damn, I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid.

Last movie watched...

The Avengers

Hadn't seen it in awhile because I didn't want to get burnt out on it. Felt it was time to give it another watch.

Saw it five times, and.... I want the Blu Ray already.

I've only seen it once. I can wait until the blu-ray is released for multiple viewings.

I know, as great as it is seeing it on the bigscreen I can't wait to watch it at home on my HDTV. That and the deleted scenes.
