The Thing From Another World

I really hate to say this but I thought this 'influential horror classic' was one of the most boring films I've ever sat through. You never felt the character were in any danger (or that they're even particularly interested in the monster roaming around outside) And the monster, that thing was pathetic. The grand finale had it picking up a plank of wood to defend itself!
Was really looking forward to this too...

Dead Man

9/10

It utilizes many traditional western themes and tropes, but it's unlike any western I've seen before. Jim Jarmusch made a great surreal landscape here, and Johnny Depp gave one of his best performances. Neil Young's minimal, improvised score was a perfect fit for the film, even though it's not something I'd want to listen to on its own.

Ok movie but this is one of those rare cases in which the soundtrack music by Jerry Goldsmith is way better than the movie.

Rock Of Ages - totally blown away by this movie if you look up the word "talented" in the dictionary you will find a picture of Tom Cruise, damn he was that good even if sound engineers tweaked his singing in post production I thought all the actors put 100% into it.

The advantage also being is that most every song in the movie is a classic that everybody can sing to. And Julianne Hough is just so damn fine.
