5/10

Bram Stokers Dracula (1992)

Whoa, what a movie! 9/10

Batman: Mask of the Phatasm

Given the various jumbled flashbacks at the start you get the feeling the director would have liked an extra 20 minutes to set up his story, which is fairly flimsy in concept anyway. Still, the action is well shot as Statham does his thing, killing dozens of bad guys from 3 different continents. 6/10

A pure B movie that manages to generate some tension and shoots smartly to cover it's effects reasonably well given the budget, the script and acting are really clunky though. 6/10

Gosford Park - 7/10

A classic kind of murder mystery idea but it's pretty unconventional in that it takes a little more than an hour for the murder to happen. It takes its time developing the characters. I appreciated the divergance of formula where when the murder finally takes place, you've spent so much time with these people that your mind is swimming with possibilities. Though I will admit, I wished they spent more time on the murder itself.

Act of Valor

There's a lot of great action sequences and I did like the pov shots. I wasn't that critical of the story or characters because I knew what they were going for by hiring real Navy Seals to act. Some people might say this is a recruitment video or proganda but I think it shows the harsh reality of war and what these people do. It's worth watching if you want to see realistic looking action or military operations.

Safe House

I think this is one of Reynolds best performances and I'd like to see him do more roles like this. Other than that it was a decent film but mostly predictable. Also interesting to see a film that focuses on safe houses, which you don't see often.

Prometheus.

I'm gonna go with 9/10.

9.1 out of 10

Best film of the Year (2012) so far.

'How To Train Your Dragon'- 8/10.
Always liked that movie a LOT, it was everything 'Avatar' (aka the single most overrated movie of all time imo) should have been. The people I introduced the movie to yesterday liked it a lot, too.

Kung Fu Panda 2

6/10

Part 1 was much more fun
