Going in not sure what to expect from a unnecessary reboot. It wasn't terrible but it was far from amazing. Andrew Garfield at times was did a good job but other times, he got annoying for me. His relationship with Emma Stone felt almost forced because they spend a lot in the small moments that partially slowed down the film.
I did really enjoy when he was first experiencing his powers, that was a lot of fun, but after that there was nothing that really excited me. As a villain Doctor Connors wasn't exciting even when he fought the NYPD and Spider-Man. Overall it had some great moments but I was left feeling meh about it.

The reviews weren't that impressing, but I found this De Palma-flick quite OK. Perhaps mostly due to Eckhart's, Hartnett's, Johansson's and Swank's performances. A great cast IMO. The real Black Dahlia case seems even more gruesome though, according to pictures and speculations.. But I've never heard about that before this movie.

I enjoyed this drama very much (if enjoyed is an appropriate term about a subject and huge trauma such as this). The very young lead actress was really good, and Owen's frustration about wanting revenge and justice felt natural. I also like that this story didn't turn to the cliché Hollywood-revenge flick it could've have.

The plot about the relationship between father and son after the dad came out of the closet was really good. The plot about the son and his girlfriend was just average "quirky romance" stuff. And the two plotlines didn't really come together thematically. Still, the quality of the acting and dialogue is enough to make the movie good.
