The Master

A second time. And it's even better. There Will be Blood is still indeed my favorite PTA film, but this joins his elite three for me.

... I know there's Lincoln and all, but **** it, just give Phoenix his Oscar already.

Dredd (3D)

Karl Urban IS Judge Dredd, he's got the role perfectly. The film is extremely fun to watch, it's brutal and has a dry/dark humor to it that tries to balance it out. Lena Headey, as always, plays a incredibly tough chick. On the reverse, Urban does not f*** around and it is awesome. It's sorta similar to the Raid (although nothing beats the Raid) but for the most part I don't even notice the similarities. The 3D was here and there for the most part, even though it was shot in 3D you only notice it when they show their money shots like the slow-mo.

End of Watch

Wow. Holy sh** this was intense. I wasn't expecting a high octane cop drama. It's partially a handy cam film but you never notice it because you are fully into the story. Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena both were so believable as two cop partners who are the best of buds. It gets so dark at some parts, you are wondering if you are watching a horror film. Other times you can't help but to laugh because there's a constant camaraderie between the two where they crack jokes to each other. It's got the perfect balance.

I was thinking the same, it reminded me of The Raid. I wish there was more character development, but it wasn't too bad. I liked the fact that Dredd never took off his helmet.

The Cabin in the Woods - Interesting movie.

The Master. Decent.
Moonrise Kingdom. Makes me want to revisit Anderson's previous films that I didn't like. Excellent.

Resident Evil: Retribution

I laughed harder than I did at most comedies. Although, I do give Anderson props for the Michelle Rodriguez subversion.

^I love batman returns, that and TDKR are my favorite Batman movies. And Marx, you avatar always makes me think something's wrong with my computer lol.
now lets see...the last ones I remember specifically seeing that really stood out:
Dredd 3D: a truly great film, I hope it at least makes it's budget back, I REALLY want to see a sequel with this crew behind it.
and a few weeks ago I saw Source Code for the first time. Daaaamn, was that a great sci fi, Duncan Jones is like the new Science Fiction Jesus. That scene where time froze on the train almost brought a tear to my eye (mostly because I thought it was end lol)

Dredd 3D.

Pretty awesome.
