HARRY POTTER
  1. Sorcerer/Philosopher Stone
  2. Chamber of Secrets
  3. Prisoner of Azkaban
  4. Goblet of Fire
  5. Order of the Phoenix
  6. Half Blooded Prince
  7. The Deathly Hallows pt.1
  8. The Deathly Hallows pt.2

Critics make it sound that the final movie is better than part 1, I think different, part 1 is mildly better. Deathly Hallows pt. 2 seems to have forgotten the Ministry of Magic and Dolores Umbridge.
Neville Longbottom is the chosen one (who makes these choice?) because he cut off the head of the snake, the final crucifix, saving Ron and Hemione.

It's a nice finishing story, but not my favorite in the series. This is my order of how much I enjoyed them:
  1. Goblet of Fire
  2. Prisoner of Azkaban
  3. Order of the Phoenix
  4. The Philosopher Stone
  5. Chamber of Secret
  6. The Deathly Hallows pt.1
  7. The Deathly Hallows pt.2
  8. Half Blooded Prince
The last movie is one I really dislike upon my first viewing of it.

Resident Evil: something something (2012).

I started crying in the middle of the film because I realized there's 1 more hour of this torture.

Have you not seen them all?

The editing in the last one is shocking. I'm surprised nobody died in the theatre due to how headache inducing it was.

I'm in the process of Paul W.S. Anderson marathon. His movies that I didn't watch before. I saw only MK1, RE1 and Event Horizon. Love 'em despite. AvP was terrible outside a few cool ideas. So I began with Soldier. It was rather eh. B-movie to the bone, but Kurt Russell is my mancrush, so it's alright. Then it was Resident Evil: something something (2010). Awful, dumb and boring. It took me two sits to get through. But RE2012 - I wasn't prepared. I don't have the words to describe the awfulness.

RE: Final Chapter is next. Then I will need to watch Pompeii, Musketeers and Death Race.

  1. Resident Evil (2002)
  2. Apocalypse (2004)
  3. Extinction (2007)
  4. Afterlife (2010)
  5. Retribution (2012)
  6. The Final Chapter (2017)

Just skip those two, spare yourself that torture.

Apocalypse and Extinction aren't from PWSA. I saw only about half of Apocalypse and turned it off. Didn't watch Extinction. The only redeeming quality of Retribution was ever-adorable Aryana Engineer from Orphan. But I'm not even sure why her character was in the film.

I know it's a bad idea, because trailers said it all and I was right not to watch anything from him outside those I already love. But I need to finish the marathon, lol. I hope I won't need therapy after that. PWSA damn lost his mind. Or it's Jovovic affecting him...

Pretty different from my ranking.

1. Prisoner of Azkaban
2. Half Blood Prince
3. The Philosopher Stone
4. Goblet of Fire
5. Chamber of Secrets
6. Deathly Hallows P.1/P. 2
7. Order of the Phoenix

We agree on the placement of Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows, just for that...

Futureworld (1976)

A sequel to Westworld. It has it's qualities, but still way inferior to Westworld. Peter Fonda's and Blythe Danner's characters are just OK, and that cameo from Yul Brunner is not only silly but totally without logic. But I've got a fondness for dystopian and fun 70s sci-fi flicks.

Kin

A pretty good little scifi flick that deserves to be seen. For the most part it's a decent family drama with scifi elements... And some elements from young adult novels to create what would be a nice fresh start to a franchise. It's heavily inspired by Terminator 2 and also other 80s scifi flicks like The Last Starfighter and Flight of the Navigator. What I love most about the movie is the direction and cinematography. It's got vaporwave vibes. I thought the cast did a good job, even if the script calls for them to do dumb mistakes to advance the story. There'a also a couple of big cameos that show up and once they do, the movie takes on a different life and tone. Overall, it's not a perfect movie, but there's a lot to admire about it. It probably wont happen, but I would love to see the sequel to it.
8.5/10

RE: The Final Chapter.

First rate schlock and editing is fascinating. Somehow it was easier to get through than in case of previous two RE films.

About that comparison between PWSA and Snyder. PWSA's better films are more enjoyable than Snyder's better films. For me at least. But Snyder can only dream about making a film as bad as PWSA can.
