Powaqqatsi
Stunning. I watched it three times and thought it was just as good as Koyaanisqatsi.

Thoroughbreds

Had it ended five minutes earlier, it would've had a terrific ending shot. Great performances all around, especially from the late great Anton Yelchin. </3

John Woo's second US movie is an entertaining action thriller that makes maximum use of it's concept and setting, Travolta is on top swagerring form, while Slater and Samantha Mathis make likable heroes trying to stop his sociopath across a series of neat set pieces.

Avengers 1 (on 4K disc for the first time)

Definitely looks sharper than ever before.

The Lookout (2007)

Solid character study. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Chris Pratt.

The Nun

Despite all the hype and hoopla, this movie ends up being just disappointing. It kinda takes a page of countless other possession movies where they just focus on the scares and nothing else. There's no real characters in here and what little they do have is cliched to the point of parody. I was actually laughing more than getting me to react from the jump scares. Once they introduced a certain character, it doesn't take long for you to see where it's going in regards to the Conjuring universe. They really throwing everything including the kitchen sink once they get into the last part of the movie. Valak is definitely threatening, but I can't help but to chuckle. Every time Valak shows up, they always give it its own theme song like if it was a wrestling show. It also has some odd comedic moments which would be something you'd see in a Evil Dead movie. To me this is more in line with the last Insidious movie or any number Netflix possession movies than a Conjuring movie. Overall, it's not the worst movie but it's far from being any good. Instead of watching this, go see Ghoul on Netflix instead.

The worst one of the 4 I've seen, it gives up on any pretense of character or story and just strings together a bunch of shoddy action scenes as Bronson murders his way through a couple of mobs with all the emotional conviction and intensity of a guy delivering Amazon packages, with the entire reason he's doing it forgotten until the last 5 minutes.
