When I was a kid...

When I was a kid, I wanted a friend like Bamfer.

-T.V.s had knobs and antennas!
-The VCR was something fairly new. DVD?
-Portable music meant it was on a cassette.
-We thought a modem running 28.8K was FAST!
-A hard drive that held 256MB was all the space you would ever need!
-AOL was the s***!!!

People used to drive station wagons when I was a kid. I dont think those kinds of cars even exist any more.
Oh yeah, and we still were nervous about the Soviet Union. Doesnt the Cold War seems like forever ago?

My car is a 1987 Ford Taurus Station Wagon. I'm only 2 years older than it!

When I was a kid, everyone wore flannel.
Had neon-colored hats, bizarre-printed clothes.
Gap and OP were considered as the IT store.
Nike was the shoes.
When everyone says "da bomb!", "psyche!", and "if you like it so much, why don't you marry it?"

Also when Beanie Babies was considered valuable.

When I was a kid...

Cellphones, reality tv, DVDs, ipods, and the internet did not exist.

Kids actually played outside.

Parents were in charge of their children.

We actually had good tv shows and cartoons. (ALF, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, TGIF, etc.)

MTV actually played music videos.

Nickelodeon and Disney actually played cartoons.

Super Mario had a cartoon and a dance
Tab and Clear Pepsi were on store shelves
Jordan's were considered extremely expensive
Raiders Jackets were considered "gang related"
Laserdisc was the shiznit

Every Saturday morning you got up and watched a string of awesome cartoons and when that was done you got an awesome kung fu movie...every Saturday morning.

Superman 1, 2, and 3 were the only superhero movies.

When you changed the channel on an old tv you needed pliers.

The easiest way to get free porn was to steal from adults with lazy hiding places or try to watch scrambled porn on cable. Every hour or two you'd get 10 seconds of unscambled porn and it was totally worth it.

You went to the arcade to play video games and you dreamed of the day you could play them on a home system with the same quality graphics.

- George Bush Sr. was president
- You had to turn the cassette tape around and press fast-forward to rewind it.
- You couldn't be on the phone and have the internet on at the same time

The internet was a movie with Ferris Bueller
Cartoons were violent and society wasn't as violent as it is now with less violent cartoons
MTV played music videos.

Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz were on the Simpsons. :csad:
Jurassic Park was praised for being revolutionary.
Every popular game title ended with 64.
Twilight meant the time of the day before sunrise or after sunset.

That reminds me of another...

When I was a kid, vampires didn't sparkle in the sun. They burned to death!

Super Mario had a cartoon and a dance
Tab and Clear Pepsi were on store shelves
Jordan's were considered extremely expensive
Raiders Jackets were considered "gang related"
Laserdisc was the shiznit

Do the Mario!
Swing your arms
from side to side
Come on its time to go
Do the Mario!

I cant remember the rest, but man I loved that show.

That reminds me of another...

Exactly. In the good old days, vampires werent sexy. They were bloodthirsty demons from Hell.

In 5th grade geography, when I made some comment about that country on that map being "the USSR". The teacher said "Well, not anymore."

I was like :huh::huh::huh::huh:

I remember asking if my grandfather was from East or West Germany (thinking I was pretty smart) and my grandmother was like "there was only one Germany. :whatever: "

Me:

good times...good times...

When I was a 7 year old at the time of Halloween I was crushed after I went to one house where I was told by the people that lived there that they didn't celebrate Halloween.
When I was a kid kids were still playing with marbles.
