Which actors could you see as the next Bond?

The whole idea of a black James Bond is ridiculous . . . this is a clearly defined character created by author Ian Fleming and if that character is changed significantly then he is just not Bond.

That's why, as I laid out before it has to be a new character. You do it right, or reboot it right, it could be legendary and long lasting as well.

Bond also didn't use a smartphone in the Fleming books but you're all ok with that

I very much am, yeah. I think Ian Fleming would be ok with that too.

Sean Connery could do one more. Harrison Ford did play Han Solo and Indy again so Connery could play Bond again. :D

Dan Stevens and the main guy from And Then There Where None are good choices.

I can't see them ever going with a black Bond. A lot of good choices on here tho

How about Luke Roberts (Woodes Rogers on Black Sails, Arthur Dayne on Game of Thrones)? I think he's got a good Bond look and can play an authoritative badass.

Just Googled Luke Roberts...perfect choice for Bond or whoever suggested Theo James as Bond he is actually perfect

Honestly, i feel like if Bond was Black and they used I Elba, there would be those that would say he didn't act black - you know, like you hear black people tell other black people they act white when they go college and don't really go down the stereotypycial urban route, if that makes sense. Point is, someone will always want to raise an issue.

Honestly, i don't mind a non white bond, as long as he acted like james bond, but i feel like they went about addressing wrong, it's gained too much hype that it would sadly feel forced.

Also, forgive me if i sound ignorant, but i feel anon white bond would have to ret con his origins and history to reflect his culture - which may change the character.

I just don't know why they don't have a bond universe and use many characters, esp the oo agents. You can get team work filled with diversity.

You might need a lesson in the difference between "fact" and "fiction".

Sure, why not?

Not really sure what you are trying to prove with your comment.

The fact is, in the fictionaery world of James Bond, he is portrayed as White.

What my main point is, why does he have to be black, if they want to change his culture, his history, why not just go for what suits it best at the time, not just to fit an agenda or try to look PC.

As i have already stated, if the story is good, the character feels like Bond, i am ope to them changing the skin colour. Do i feel it is needed, no not really.

But seriously Fassbender he is or probably is the fan favorite for Craig's replacement as far as the Bond series goes but then again he is tied to the X-Men franchise too but I think Fassbender could do both in all hindsight

I have no interest in seeing a black Bond. There are aspects of Bond's character dependent on him being an old money white Englishman of a certain generation and class background, just like there are things about, say, Shaft, that hinge on him being black.

Yeah but those aspects don't really matter anymore. Bond's a different character than he was in the novels or past films. He's adaptable.

Maybe me the next bond, not!

If not racist, i pick from every race, the list next bond by my opinion is Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman, Iko Uwais and Donnie Yen

No there isn't - not in the least bit. Bond's race has zero importance on his character. None at all. Shaft is completely different - it was literally a blaxpoitation reaction.

You're going to have to agree to disagree.

I'll agree that a lot of people in here are wrong and subconsciously influenced by a racist society, although they themselves may not be intentionally racist.

Personally a black Bond I wouldn't have a problem with it at all but James Bond historically has always been white and not to mention in the novels he has always been white so with that in mind as far as the next Bond goes there are so many British actors who can realistically play Bond after Craig
