Which actors do you think should be the next James Bond?

Mi6 advertise positions in the London metro newspaper.
It's going to be a couple of years if not a few more before we get another Bond film and I'm pretty sure before then whatever demand there is for a non white Bond would have dropped significantly. I don't personally think Bond HAS to be white. He's a character of the times we're living in but should we REALLY give that much of a **** about him being other than white? I don't think so. Let him stay white. These days it takes longer and longer to see him as it is.

I will bring up Aidan Turner again. :yay:

So skin color and gender is everything?
It's a lot. Fictional or not, it makes up a big portion of an individual's identity. More on that later, but surely you wouldn't begrudge fans for vying to have their favorite characters stick as close to their favorite iteration? Not sure with the obsession in moving these discussions beyond the simple topic of source fidelity.

Changing him into a her could be a little more tricky , but I'd be open to it if someone could do it well.
Well with it being fiction, the realm of infinite possibilities, any creative deviation could conceivably result in a fascinatingly fresh take on a character. But it should also be acknowledged fans would still prefer to have their "conventions" honored, without being labeled as ----ist.

Think of the term "content of character".
If you're referring to what I think you are, that's quite a bit off-kilter to the discussion at hand. Forget Bond, analyse yourself.

The clothes you wear, the food you eat, the way you speak, the creative arts you gravitate to, your cultural roots, etc. All these facets combined form a wholly unique individual. None of these by themselves necessarily categorize or define you as a person (how could it?), but surely you would agree they are in various degrees important to your personal makeup.

He should be considered.

^ If he channels Oliver Reed like he did in High-Rise he'd be awesome.

I like Turner. Like Connery and Lazenby mixed together.

Let's forget Bond for a moment....i want Emily Berrington for Bond girl

I'm fascinated by her in Humans

Yeah, he's got a nice 60s/70s vibe. Don't know much about him as an actor, though. I never finished The Hobbit.

That's the only role I've seen Turner in, too. But yeah, I remember him being good in that.

I've heard his name come up before but I just can't see it.

Well, I can, but he wouldn't b on my list.

I have this idea that whoever plays Bond should be an actor who plays the villain in everything else or has an attitude or look that makes him a natural fit for villains.

Dan Stevens, Matthew Goode and Hiddleston can be leading men but they can be manacing as well. Damian Lewis has that too. Chiwetel Ejiofor a bit less but I still like him for it.

Fassbender and Hardy and Elba have it too.

Also the fact that Elba's not that much younger than Craig and probably wouldn't have much longevity in the role.

John Krasinski, anybody?

After 13 hours, and now getting ready to play John Ryan, I could definitly see him playing James Bond.

American.

Besides he's busy with Michael Bay's Jack Ryan.
