I'm not racist, but...
The whole idea of a black James Bond is ridiculous . . . this is a clearly defined character created by author Ian Fleming and if that character is changed significantly then he is just not Bond.

No there isn't - not in the least bit. Bond's race has zero importance on his character. None at all. Shaft is completely different - it was literally a blaxpoitation reaction.I have no interest in seeing a black Bond. There are aspects of Bond's character dependent on him being an old money white Englishman of a certain generation and class background, just like there are things about, say, Shaft, that hinge on him being black.
