Honestly I like Kyle more than John, so I'd be perfectly happy with that.

Yeah Kyle adds far more in terms of diversity, AND he's a better character than John. Unlike John, he actually has good storylines in the comics, and his personality is fun and relatable. The lineup is lacking in Hispanic representation.

Kyle and Hal are the center of the GL universe they're by far the most important characters and those two IMO are the only ones deserving of the lead role in a movie series.

they should go with kyle if they're going for the diversity angle which as contrived as it may appear, i think it's commendable if they're not gonna go full blown classic line up. i still want abin-sur to be the the first of the sector (i want some hero deaths in these movies) if they're going to add hal near the end of part 1 of jl. it'll carry more weight i think.

I like this idea of including Abins death and Hals origin in a JL film , that's exactly what they did for New Frontier

and i think jl will probably be loosely inspired by that, with braniac replacing the centre.

i'd like braniac to be a solar system wide threat though. alien invasion is old hat and boring.

i hope they do enough to include mars. the white martians and green martians. like braniac endowed the the white martians with some tech to exterminate the green martians, and that's where abin dies, in a martians civil war.

it'd be interesting if braniac mind controlled some of the human populous and tried to instigate civil wars on both mars and earth from his ship to keep the sentient life busy before he decides to destroy/or shrink to collect all of the planets in the system.

God they should just do a Hal/John amalgamation. Johns name, profession, and appearance, and he can have Hals relationship with Sinestro. I don't care anymore. As long as the GL used has Hals relationship with Stro, I'm fine

They seem to be using the current JL lineup are they not? Doesn't that most likely mean that the GL they use on the big screen will be Hal Jordan? Things seemed to be trending towards Hal being used.

Personally I'd prefer Jon Stewart just to shake things up. But we'll probably get Hal, and that's more than fine with me as long as they make him more interesting than Reynolds.

Look at how diverse the casting is. I don't see them going with Hal.

I think you're wrong, but I sure as hell hope you're right.

If they go w/John, the fact that Hal's an absolutely unnecessary element & his film was a complete disaster will play a huge part in that decision. If WB wants to stack the odds in their favor, going w/Hal when he's never meant anything outside of comics (despite being promoted waaaaay more than the other GLs) would be counter-productive....again.

I think WB is thinking about what GL to use. I agree that they probably don't want Hal with that diaster OF A MOVIE. They can still use him but I think it's really a lot of going back and forth on rather or not to use Hal. I think it'd be John because this generation came up on the JL animated series and John was the GL. Then again their is already a black guy on the team, so they may not wanna go that route. If WB had the balls they'll go ahead and use the Hispanic woman as GL. I would like to see that. At least we get two woman on the team. If not use Kyle and cast an Hispanic actor. Kyle's mother was hispanic. i would say the Muslim guy but I doubt WB would even go that far in terms of diversity right now. Muslims are now the choice bad and evil guys in Hollywood right now.

I think WB should hire a few different writers and task each to write a script with one of the Earth Green Lanterns as the main character and then WB can decide which Lantern to use based on the best script.

I'm more than down for this. Never liked Hal. Only aspect of his character I DID like was his relationship with Sinestro. I'd even be cool if they had the new movie in the same continuity as the Ryan Reynolds one, and the film starts with Hal and John working together, then Sinestro kills Hal and we have a John/Sinestro rivalry established out of it.

It seems pretty clear to me that by saying **** like this you don't actually read any comic books. John Stewart has had plenty of good storylines in the comic books. Especially as of late.
