For everything else, use the comics.
Can you use the word "good" in that sentence? Because Spiderman comics have sucked in the last few decades.

Most comics tend to suck nowadays. Can you use the word "good" in that sentence? Because Spiderman comics have sucked in the last few decades.

What I liked about ASM1 is the world seemed 'real' and then they plonked something fantastical right in the middle of it. A great juxtaposition. In ASM2, Spider-Man and the world he lived in looked and felt of the same thing. I think I prefer the former's tone.
Other than some of the visual effects, I'd rather not see Avi Arad's influence on this film.

I remember in the leaked e-mails, Amy Pascal said they can't give up Avi Arad. I assume giving them EP credits is a small compromise. They are still technically a part of the reboot by name but they have no real creative control. I guess they will still get a paycheck out of it as well.It seems pretty obvious that Arad and Tolmach are only being credited as EPs because they have to be.

I don't think Feige would have agreed to this deal if Avi and Matt would have any significant involvement in the film. We'll never know I guess.I'm personally inclined to think that this is a Kaz and Fran Kuzui situation where Arad and Tolmach will be credited as being involved with the film but not actually have anything to do with it.
We'll see, though.

Few decades? How many decades are you talking here? The 90's and even the 2000's I can understand, but not the decades before that.

Not at all. Most comics tend to suck nowadays.
Very true. There are good and bad comics now as there are in every era.
And "The Gauntlet", "Big Time", "Ends of the Earth", The Superior Spider-Man, "Spider-Verse", etc.The only good Spider-Man comics have been in the 90s-2000s-2010s are
A) Ultimate Spider-Man (most of it)
B) Mark Waid's Spider-Man Family Business graphic novel
The 90's almost killed the industry. It's hard to express in words how much better comics have been since then. There's more stuff from the 90s I enjoy but I can't think of it at the moment.

Why would Marvel do that? It would make people believe it's still part of the previous continuity. It's not like Sally Field had such a brilliant and iconic performance as May either. There are many other actresses who could play the part. Marvel have the chance to even cast someone as big as Meryl Streep in the role. There's no way you could tell me her performance couldn't match Field's.
her acting, and her portryal of may parker way league tons better than the raimi lady.
