Which villain(s) should the reboot start with?

I'd say a good villain for a reboot would be Black Mask or Penguin.

I think the best Batman films have each featured two supervillains.

The combos I'd like to see would be:
Penguin and Mr Freeze
Hugo Strange and Killer Croc
Black Mask and Poison Ivy
The Riddler and Clayface

Your argument is solid, Proxytoxin.

Some of my pairings:

-Black Mask and Cornelius Stirk (as a henchmen)
-Scarecrow and Clayface
-Hush and Deadshot

If there's one thing the rebooted series should keep from the Nolan Days are the two villain format. Batman is somehow who should deal with villains who challenge him in different ways. One poster above suggested Clayface and Scarecrow--I like that idea.

There are plenty of Batman villains who are strong enough to carry a movie by themselves, but equally some have a naturally thematic link. An obvious case is with Mr Freeze and The Penguin, both of whom are thwarted romantics with an icy motif.

They've all had at least two "main" villains except Batman '89. Personally I'd like a bunch, but focus on just one as far as character development.

Black Mask &/or Hush

We need a very Bruce Wayne focused reboot and They are both primarily Enemies and antagonists of Bruce Wayne not Batman.

Yes, they didn't come into continuity till later on in the comics, but I'd love to see the next Set of films start when Batman has already been around for a 2-5 years and is in his prime and avoid the immediate Origin tale...

Origins don't have to be explained straight away... It could be done like BTAS did it in mask of the phantasm... In a sequel...

I don't think we NEED a very Bruce Wayne focused reboot since we just had a whole trilogy that focused more on Bruce than Batman. Especially in both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises.

I think it's more of the opposite now.

Im not really a fan of Hush to be honest.

Bruce/Batman needs to be the main focus (unlike Batman Returns) but not to the extent of TDKT.

I'd say starting off with penguin/ black mask would be good. He needs to be getting his feet wet with villains that are just slightly above the grasp of the police. Later they need to work in the rogues gallery.

1st movie. Penguin and black mask gang wars
2. Scarecrow and ivy. Both scientists working with chemicals and getting too fixated at what they do. Still semi grounded.

3. Joker. All out maniac. Possible bane or croc working for him.

The villains left that I really need to see in Batman movie at some point (not all in the same movie) that haven't been done:

Black Mask
Deadshot
Shiva
Harley Quinn
Hugo Strange
Red Hood

The villains that still haven't been done CORRECTLY in film that I need to see:

Riddler
Penguin
Poison Ivy
Mr. Freeze

I guess in the initial reboot a mixture of Riddler, Deadshot, Black Mask, Penguin, and Joker would be amazing. Yes, I know that most would say that's way too many villains for one film. However, I think it it can be pulled off correctly. Just because a villain is in a film doesn't mean they need to have a large role. Penguin and Black Mask are easily explainable as crime lords so they don't really need any origin.

Joker doesn't need an origin either, especially if they have the character as already established. Would be awesome to see a flashback with him as Red Hood falling into the chemicals, but it's nothing necessary.

I'd use Riddler because it would give the audience something the
y wanted and didn't get from Nolan.

I want to see Freeze, Riddler, Penguin, Clayface,Killer Croc, Catwoman with a decent costume, Scarecrow with a decent costume, Ra's done like the comics, Joker

Dr. Strange as the main villain in an adaptation of Arkham Asylum and City, but take out the involvement of Joker and the League of Assassins.

Bruce Wayne has been ordered to talk to a psychiatrist after a fit of rage when one of his satellites were destroyed(by Zod and Superman) and he shows that anger during a business meeting at Wayne Enterprises, so while he's having his meetings with Dr. Strange, the doctor starts to deduce and deduce until he realizes Bruce's greatest secret. That's all via flashbacks until the final battle where Batman meets Dr. Strange, but the rest of the film follows Batman taking down the still-mysterious Riddler villain and personally escorting him to Arkham Asylum, surprising numerous doctors as Batman is still viewed as this myth. Batman gets himself locked inside because this is Dr. Strange's plan and other villains in the film are used because they can psychologically torture Batman(Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, Clayface, maybe even Calendar Man) up until the final battle where it's Batman vs Strange(who's also dressed up as Batman) where Strange shows up physical attributes that even matches Batman's.

Maybe a few nods to Joker or Two-Face, but I would prefer to see the reboot taking on more of the lesser known villains to the general audience.
