The Dark Knight Rises Which villians are MOST LIKELY to appear?

BLack Mask= THe whole gangster aspect just works well in the Nolanverse
Hush= Lesser known villain but would have great hand to hand fights with Batman which would be excellent

So I say Hush and Black Mask

I don't understand why people are interested in seeing Talia Al Ghul.

What would be interesting, besides a plot point to tie into the first film, about Ras' daughter coming to Gotham with League of Shadows in hand to get revenge on Bruce for offing her father?

We would just get a scene like this:

Talia: You killed my father!
Batman: Who?
Talia: My name is Talia...Al Ghul!!!!
Batman: Oh.
Talia: Now you shall pay with your life!
Batman: Great.

They fight. Batman wins. The End.

Plus, from what I've seen of the character, her love for her father and her love for Bruce are a crucial internal conflict for her, but with Ras dead and Liam Neeson certainly not going to return for Batman 3, this version of Talia would have no father to fed for or make a defining choice with...she would only be fighting to honor his memory and not actually have him physically there manipulating her feelings and emotions for Bruce.

I don't think Talia would be interesting at all really.

If you want a new female... go with Catwoman...

1. fans/non-fans know her
2. she's gimmicky, like Joker, Two-Face, etc. Talia is just... a woman. There's nothing that "sells" about her. A hot chick in a cat costume??? awesome! a killer clown??? awesome!!! a guy with half his face burnt off??? awesome!!! a woman who loves her father??? eh? what? um ok.
3. Other themes can be explored.. duality, Bruce falling in love with a fellow "freak", etc. Batman being faced with falling in love with a criminal, fellow vigilante, etc. With Talia all you get is another "revenge" plot.
4. SHE'S FREAKING CATWOMAN!!!!

Okay, so I said my piece.

Catwoman is waaaaaaay cooler than Talia and I would be MUCH MUCH more excited to see Nolan's vision of her than Talia Al Ghul.

So why is Talia so interesting? Anyone want to defend her and the choice to have her in Batman 3, because I don't get it.

:applaud Greatness...I think exactly the same, tho I love Talia, I think Selina is the best choice to gooo

Someone, I forgot who, mentioned a new take on Catwoman could be she is a "Robin Hood" type figure who steals from the mobsters/crime organizations and gives to the poor... or perhaps steals from mobsters/wealthy elite and gives to the poor. I think that's an interesting angle to take.... so she's a vigilante, a criminal, but her intentions are at least noble. And Batman, needing to redeem himself, has to still pursue her arrest, since he must stand for justice in all forms, meaning no stealing, period, whether intentions are noble or not.

Oh yes? What about vandalism, destruction of property, breaking and entering, assault and battery, conspiracy and police corruption?

Batman approves of all these things.

Talia: You killed my father!
Batman: Who?
Talia: My name is Talia...Al Ghul!!!!
Batman: Oh.
Talia: Now you shall pay with your life!
Batman: Great.

Shouldn't that read: "My name is Talia Al Ghul. You killed my father. Prepare to die."?

^ Of course, and she should infirtrate the GPD under the alias of Det. Renee Montoya. What's next?

That would be me, probably. You can find a better explained version in my signature link, at the bottom of the page.

Batman approves of all these things.

He does all those things, but he does not approve them, and that was made clear by the early scene with the copycats. It established a moral dilemma within Batman... he fights for the system, but outside the system, and his example is encouraging people to do the same... but he DOES NOT WANT THEM to do the same.

And he must stop them.

Yes. Are you beginning to know the character now?

He had more than one reason to blame himself for the five deaths. He needs to set himself apart from society to limit that 'wrong' inspiration he's projecting. He's not confortable with his position in society and the reactions he's getting, that's why he decides to leave that place. Nolan's Batman has a few existential problems. That's why it's so rich as a character.

Melkay, I completely agree.

My picks would be the following and for the reasons listed

Talia Al Ghul - Because the 3rd film will need a female character of sorts, and i just dont like catwoman, plus it would play nicley with the first film and what happened to her father, she could begin befriending Bruce Wayne ....

The Riddler - Im realy drawn to this character because of the complexity of his mind and mental state, a man who can seem so calculating, self assured, smart, and to begin with, harmelss, and yet so deranged and dangerous as time passes and the riddles get nastire and bigger and tougher to crack, i just know Nolan could have a ball with this character.

The Black Mask - Ties in well with Bruce Wayne, his past, the company, Lucious Fox etc .... and is the type of character that could work away in the shaddows of the film without taking away the show from the characters above.

Now if i were to cast them,

Talia : Isla Fischer

Riddler : Adrian James

Black Mask : Guy Pearce

the most logical ending for a nolan movie would be to have every character in it, Ra's, Joker, scarecrow, Marony, falcony, and throw talia into the mix.

Ra's - use him as we last saw him, he closes his eyes on the train in begins but really what happened to him? no one knows, they can he jumped at the last second. Use him a secert plot point trying to get the joker and scarecrow to tox the city or something worse

joker - hes the man, use him the way he should be used

scarecrow - let him get messed up by the joker as a pawn

marony and flacony going at each other for mob power

talia should be bruces love interest hating him only to realzie she loves him, use a back plot previous to begins for her

The Riddler - Main Villian

Catwoman - Love Interest

The Penguin or Black Mask - Mob Element

Deadshot - Secondary Villian

So basically you want a movie that has everything we've already seen in Nolans Batman's? Yeah that'll sell.

-Terror Inc.

Either Catwoman or Talia for a new love interest and the riddler as the new main villain

If they use Talia, most non-Batman fans would know who she is--oh yeah, the daughter of the guy from the 1st one

I wasn't--just thinking of the non-Batman moviegoers :O

oh, okay, they might know who she was but then I think Catwoman would be even better considering so many people know her more than Talia, (i just don't know if he would want to go with her after the Halle Berry incident).

Yeah that whole Halle Barry business sort of left a bad taste in everyone's mouth, so it's hard telling if Nolan will use Catwoman or not.

probably not, I'd rather him go with Vicki Vale, having a connection with the newspaper and having The riddler send his riddles into the Gotham times

Thought this thread would be interesting to up. Tonytr1687 hit the nail on the head about Talia and Bane.
