So, with the most recent episode revealing the identity of Prometheus, but not Vigilante, I figured I'd make a thread mirroring the one about Prometheus for this character.

Not the least because the character we all assumed was Vigilante was actually Prometheus.

So who is he? Some of the options for Prometheus (such as Tommy) obviously don't carry over, unless there's some seriously sketchy stuff going on, but I can't think of a single character who could be Vigilante. Why would they hold off on his reveal for so long; longer than the main villain, even? So here are a few scattered thoughts I had, almost certainly none of them correct, but it was just to get creative juices flowing.

1. He's Quentin Lance. I don't like this theory because Lance is very opposed to any innocents getting hurt, whereas Vigilante constantly shoots up everything, without regard to casualties. Pros to this theory: Vigilante disappeared the same time Quentin went to rehab, and didn't reappear until Quentin returned.

2. He's Deadshot. This is random, and the evidence is all circumstantial, but it could be fun. We know there's sort of a Suicide Squad embargo, but if Floyd Lawton was no longer Deadshot, but Vigilante, maybe they could use him again? Pros to this theory: both Deadshot and Vigilante have sort of raspy voices; Vigilante's a crack shooter, and even shot an arrow out of the sky; and Digg's hallucination earlier this season might've been subtle foreshadowing.

3. He's Roy. I just randomly started cranking out ideas, and there were rumors that Haynes might be returning this season, so...why not? Con to this idea: Vigilante seems taller and broader than the rather small Roy Harper, plus why would he have suddenly become so violent?

4. He's Justin Claybourne's son? I have a feeling that either Adrian Chase is actually Claybourne's son, or Vigilante is; one or the other. If Adrian isn't, most likely Vigilante is.

5. He's Adrian Chase. Have Vigilante and Prometheus [BLACKOUT]ever been in the same place together? Perhaps they're the same person, and it's all part of Prometheus' plan to hurt Oliver[/BLACKOUT].

Any other theories? I suppose he could be someone brand new we've never met, or he could be someone we'd never expect. I just really love off-the-wall speculation so I'm trying to see if I can figure out who he could be just by throwing darts at a wall and seeing what sticks. Out of all my theories I think Floyd Lawton is my favorite, but it's probably one of the most unlikely.

Promethius and Vigilante just fought one another. Whoever he is, he has some skills. He caught that throwing star really well.

And Quentin was in the limo last night he attacked.

Is there any reason it couldn't be the reporter/girlfriend? My other thought is that is tied to Bratva somehow. Perhaps the Gregor character.

Maybe he's Adrian Chase... From a different Earth! We've already gotten Laurel from Earth-2. Why not Chase?

The thing is Vigilante definitely had Chases voice so I'm thinking maybe a clone or some sort of doppelgänger.

Ah man I got nothing, no idea whatsoever. I'm kinda pissed it isnt Adrian Chase tbh.

it's either Paul or Mc kennia hall the voice changer has really worked well with these two.

Someone mentioned in another thread he could be Dorian Chase, who was also Vigilante in the comics, and he might be Adrian's twin brother (hence why Vigilante's voice sounds so similar to Adrian's). This is probably the best theory so far, and it's what I'm going to stick to until further notice.

I had this thought, just for fun: what if Vigilante is Oliver Queen? No, hear me out. I'm talking a Red X scenario, where the supposed villain is actually the hero, looking to get the true villain through another means. Red X was Robin in disguise, trying to get at Slade. But wait, Green Arrow and Vigilante have fought! Yes. But...we have already seen how accurately Christopher Chance can mimic Oliver. What if, every time Oliver has needed to be Vigilante, Christopher has taken his place as Green Arrow? In the crossover, we saw Flash grab Oliver and Diggle just before Vigilante shot them both, and that was obviously the real Oliver, but what if that time, it was Chance posing as Vigilante, for the purpose of cementing the deception?

I know that's not actually what's happening, but that would be a really fun twist, I think. The last thing anybody would expect would be for Vigilante to remove his mask to reveal the face of Oliver Queen.

But I do think the "Dorian Chase" theory is much more likely. Why? Because Josh Segarra is part of the main cast, which means he can return after S5. Now, Prometheus could escape at the end of S5 and be a threat in the future, I guess. But I don't expect that to happen. But if Segarra is playing Adrian's twin, Dorian, then he can reappear next season, if Oliver convinces Dorian to join Team Arrow (and in the process be less callous in his killing).

It also has the effect of turning S5 into sort of a war of siblings. We've already seen Prometheus and Vigilante fight once. Maybe there will be an escalating conflict between the two of them from hereon out.

Yeah I think it's a twin brother. I read in the comics Vigilante's brother later took over the mantle, or something. Pretty sure this is the case with their identities. The fight they had last episode seemed like two brothers fighting one another.

I think Vigilante is Hunter Zolomon posing as Jay Garrick but using the name Adrian or Dorian. Either way, they're leading us on a wild goose chase.

Katie Cassidy. She's hunting down Guggenheim for his poor treatment of her character.

In reality, much like the "planned" death in season 4, I doubt the producers actually know who Vigilante is. They'll figure it out in season 6 and the "answer" will probably raise all sorts of continuity issues or it will be so anti-climatic that it barely rates a "meh" from the audience.

:funny:

This one gets my vote

Seriously. See my sig. Teddy Sears/Hunter Zolomon should be revealed as the big bad of every season of each Arrowverse show. :D

If one of them is a time remnant, then that could explain how they could both appear to be in the same place at the same time, much like Eobard Thawne did in the Flash season 1.

Diggles brother??
I know he died but so have others

Saw this on another board:

Chase. Because Prometheus isn't Chase but is instead Felicity's boyfriend who has been using Human Target's gear to fake his and other's identities the whole time.

Interesting thought, but how would Malone get his hands on Human Target's gear (let alone without killing Human Target, though I guess it's possible he did kill him).

Well it doesn't have to be Malone per se, it could be any one passing themselves off as anyone else. It's like last season of Flash when Zoom passed himself off as Garrick. The Garrick name meant nothing in the Flarrowverse but it makes the viewers think he's one thing, when he's not. I tend to think there is another Adrian Chase somewhere in the Flarrowverse who is a victim of identity theft by Prometheus.

We know it's not Slade Wilson, because he would pronounce it "Vigilarnte"

I think he could be Dinah's "dead" partner. Vinny may not be his real name. That would give a good reason for DD being in season 6

It's tommy or eddie has to be those too are the best choices.

I think it might be Grant Ward. He's always portrayed as very duplicitous and he would have the skills to be vigilante.
