Arrow Who is Vigilante?

I forgot that Slade even had a son until Oliver brought it up in the finale.

I have no idea who they will end up making Vigilante if it is indeed someone we have seen before. My only guess would be that Vigilante is Captain Stein(played by Lochlyn Munro) from the season three episode "Birds of Prey". It just seemed like they built him up a lot in that episode and then it all went nowhere. He really hated vigilantes in it, but he also seemed a little unstable and he went off on his own to confront Arrow and his group. Maybe the events of that episode changed him and changed his circumstances so much that he had to focus his rage in a different way. Maybe he had to become someone else, or maybe he had to become something else, the Vigilante! Ha, I had to have a little fun with that last line.

Well, they said around SDCC that Vigilante is definitely someone we're familiar with, so...the speculation continues.

So, one speculation that I've heard a few times lately is that he could be Dinah Drake's cop partner from Central City, and because of the particle accelerator blast he didn't die. I don't know if I buy this one, but...as long as we don't know who he is, the speculation will just get wilder, I guess.

So he won't be bearing any thing with the name Chase? What episode was that by the way? I might need to see it again for a closer look.

Wendy Mericle says Vigilante hasn't been cast yet.

"We are super psyched about that character and about the stories that we have planned. He’ll definitely come back. We left that dangling deliberately in season five knowing that we would bring that character back in season 6. He’ll have a really cool story line, not just in respect to the city, but also with respect to a particular member of the team. We’re intrigued and we’re kind of going through the casting process right now. We’re very excited about it."

^^How can that be possible if they declared, "it someone we've seen before."?! Doesn't make sense to me. I assume the character himself showed in the series before would somehow become the Vigilante. Now they go out and looking for someone else?

I think they're playing it cute with "someone we've seen before." Maybe it's someone who was young enough that they could recast without it being odd?

Either that or, perhaps, they changed their minds while writing because the actor they hoped to use (that we've seen before) became unavailable, and they had to rewrite his character to still be connected to someone on TA, but nobody we've actually seen before.
