I want to see Spider-Man making fun of the bad guys, something similar to TASM car scene.

I liked that part where he's pretending to cower and then he sticks the guy's hand to the wall, but I thought they ruined it by having him go on for too long shooting the guy (once in the dick) as he screamed for help. It was annoying and awkward.

And he's just standing there the whole time, it's awkward in general

I dont see anyone assuming that...

I think your post right here did precisely that:

A simple mob story ala DD wont ever happen with a spidey film.. especially a reboot.. that's suppose to usher in a new franchise... people want spectacle with spidey... spidey fighting Kingpin, Hammerhead, Chameleon and tombstone arn't all that visually interesting nor entertaining... you have to pair them up with some powered people (and no shocker alone wont cut it)

you can tell a great story sure.. but I know i'd much rather visually see an aerial battle with the goblins or vulture than spidey fighting guys with guns in a warehouse.

That's the thing. Using Shocker wouldn't be a simple mob story depending on when you go.

I'm picturing Shocker to be very much like a mixture of Captain Cold and sort of Ant-Man in the MCU. He's a street tough heist man who steals and is very good at it. With Spidey he needs to up his game and the scales. We could have one night say Aunt May grounds Peter for something and we don't have Spidey come. When Shocker tries to rob a place, after a certain amount of time, he calls off the heist because he knows Spidey isn't coming and doesn't steal anything.

You don't have to involve the mob at all if you don't want to. I feel you need to work from the ground up in Spidey in the MCU. Start him up with Shocker.

I think it's just as marketable and a lot more interesting then just have Peter fight another scientist villain, yea many of his villains are scientist but there are some that's not, for the 5th movie in a row.

Comparing Shocker to Captain Cold is a very accurate comparison. But I don't see him working as a lead villain. He's more of a henchman/side threat.

Which version of Mysterio would you guys want to be adapted? 616 or Ultimate?

As long as there's a fishbowl I don't care. :funny:

But seriously 616 all the way.

I feel Shocker can work. Just thinking more and more, if he had a team with him like Scott does in which he does heists, what if Shocker for example was the leader and the distraction? With the arrvial of Spider-Man, they need to up their game Shocker feels. So Shocker steals a crate of tech from Oscorp or Stark that contends the electric gloves he uses.

When they do a heist, Shocker stays far enough away from that so even if Spidey knew of a heist happening while fighting Shocker, he wouldn't have enough time to get there.

This could also work well with the Daily Bugle as they would have "SPIDER-MAN FAILS TO STOP HEIST".

I don't know, I think I have some really good and different ideas that could work well on screen. I mean I think The Flash has done Flash and Captain Cold well in that show. I think Shocker could work really well on screen if you have that direction. Sure Shocker seems like more of a side character but when you think about it, so does Electro and Rhino and other Spidey villains. Outside of Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom, Carnage, Kraven, and Mysterio (also Kingpin if we're counting him), there aren't many other Spidey villains to take the spotlight for the film.

I mean basically what I'm getting at is we all know Spidey's story would work well on screen. I'm really making Shocker sort of like the evil Ant-Man who uses tech, steals, and has a team he commits heists with. I really think something could work. Sure it wouldn't be as great as the first 2 Raimis but it sort of feels like Batman Begins in a way since that film was all about showing Batman's beginning roots like the direction I'm kind of doing having Shocker be his first villain.

I can tell you likely haven't read Spidey comics with Mysterio.

Ultimate Mysterio is 616 Mysterio.

Shocker is pretty much the go-to expendable thug.. the powers arn't all that interesting (he vibrates) so visually you shouldn't even see any energy, and he's basically spidey's first "mort" he's sorta a loser.. on par with the Trapster, Boomerang and Speed Demon... you don't base movies off them as main villains.. they're goons for someone who hired them.

im all for him and rhino being in films.. but not the "main villain" of a film.. just hired guns.

Ultimate Mysterio is 616 Mysterio.

ehrm....

Ultimate Mysterio is an Android

^^^ yeah that's convoluted and stupid and will be retconned again someday

but no... they arn't the same... one is 616 and one is a robot controlled by 616

Well, it's not going to get retconned because the whole universe is going to disappear so there's no need.

I forgot Secret Wars was happening. I wonder if the MCU will ever do anything like that.

Looked it up. It doesn't sound like they have confirmed its beck yet

Last we have truly seen beck, he was back from hell with half his head missing

Wtf, I must've been livin under a rock.

that was about 10 years ago... during Friendly Neighborhood spider-man pre-civil war when peter was a teacher at mid-town high...

all 3 mysterios appeared in the school... after Beck commited suicide in DareDevil by blowing his brains out.. he was released from hell and FNS was basically introducing him as a new supernatural character (which i rather liked)

then he re-appeared during the gauntlet... as if nothing ever happened and there's a passing reference saying "he faked his death" ... which i don't really buy in the context of the DD story...

i'd much prefer a demonic mysterio.. then one who can unlock portals to other dimensions and constantly fakes his death...

Mysterio would gain a major upgrade if he actually became demonic or was able to use magic imo... that's progress for the character development (in the comics)

I wouldn't want him to be supernatural in the film, though I would want him to use his effects, illusions, and theatricality to try to make his opponents think he's more then human.

He's a former fx guy and/or stuntman, so it would make sense that he would try to use his skills to appear or disappear in a mist. Though I do like the idea that poster suggested a while back that there be two people switching off in the Mysterio costume as opposed to Beck being the only person in the suit.

Yeah, listen to Frodo. The last thing we need is a supernatural Mysterio.

I'd say Kingpin, both because he's awesome and it'd be great to have a character cross from the small screen to the big one.
