Like I've always said it tickles me pink why every adaption of Venom, in both the movie and all the various Spider-Man animated shows, not to mention the Ultimate Spider-Man comic, have one thing in common; they all made his origin and motive different to the comics. There's no Sin-Eater back story, Peter/Spider-Man have an actual connection with Brock before they become enemies rather than being total strangers, all Brock's big religious belief BS is left out.
With good reason. All these writers see how poor Venom's back story and motive is. So they right the wrongs when adapting him. Because his comic book counterpart is just too flimsy to be believable as a revenge antagonist.
