Devin Faraci did mention he heard the movie will be very small and very focused on Peter. Scorpion also feels so obvious and has been popping up frequently in the fandom as the choice. We'll see. Maybe Scorpion being too obvious is a good thing.

Scorpion is a second-rate Lizard, plus Gargan isn't interesting at all. He sucks imo. but I guess i'll have to suck it up and deal with it if he's chosen.

I think Scorpion fits as an MCU esque villain, but I hope he wouldn't be as generic.

I'm sure he'll undergo some changes to make him more interesting.

Scorpion definitely fits within the MCU theme of technology.

I could see a Yellowjacket design change going on with him.

Personally for me kraven and scorpion I feel are better set up for sequel villains. So we can first set up this take on spidey and develop how world and folks like and hate him. Plus scorpion makes sense with more build up for jjj hate on spidey.

That is why I still rather go with mysterio first. Again he is different from the rest. Great visuals to play off. Play on the power and responsibilities angle. Plus also we could easily have mysterio frame up spidey to lead to more distrust from jjj and feed into him making bad call in a later film and do spider slayers or scorpion.

Also heck no to ultimate scorpion look or story ie being a peter clone. Scorpion would likely be a cross of whiplash, yellow jacket and iron man suit wise. As mcu is fairly tech heavy.

I think one of the most interesting things about Scorpion is his origin as a PI trailing Peter with Jameson funding the experiment that turns him into the Scorpion and then the relationship he, Jameson, and Spidey have as a result. I mean, the thing about the Scorpion's origin is that it allows for good character development and dynamics for Jameson and Spidey... and Gargan just goes crazy.

So I mean, I think there would be something there you could make into something compelling on film. Scorpion has a pretty clear motivation in his origin story. Maybe you don't need to complicate the villain motivations beyond that by giving him a complex background. Make him imposing and clear in what he wants. He does have a tail like the Lizard and is green, too. I dunno if they'd want another green villain with a tail lol.

Do you guys think maybe some of the reason villains haven't been working in these movies lately is that they'd been trying to add stuff that wasn't there? If the movie is focusing on Peter and his trials, does it really need to flesh out the villains more than they are in the comics? They don't all have to be Spider-Man 2 Doc Ock's, focus on what makes them cool characters that stick in fans minds.

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't necessarily use the Jameson storyline with Scorpion. Scorpion works perfectly for a smaller scale, John Hughes, feel.

Totally and if scorpion is user down the road I wsnt thst character aspects and jjj connections right there you already have perfect setup and dynamic fie anfilm. Plus gives you something more to do with jjj. Then sitting at his desk yelling for spidey pics.

My fear is that they won't ever use the Lizard if Scorpion is this film's villain. :csad: And the Lizard is a much more compelling, interesting villain than Scorpion.

Oh come on no reason you can't see both. They are both good characters. And totally different reasoning behind them. And look at foes we seen in films already. There is plently of space.

I doubt we'll see Lizard, even if they don't use Scorpion.

He was just used, and as of right now, they're interested in using villains that haven't been used yet.
That doesn't mean he can't be used somewhere down the line in future films, though. (Unless they use Scorpion in movie 1)

I still feel like scorpion and the spider slayers are still the most logical post civil war.

Great way to introduce the bugle, jameson, creates the new yorkers love him and hate him dynamic, can easily merge the story with smythe and even vulture.. it can be small and contained... but visually interesting.

Well if he is executed in similar fashion to the Amazing Spiderman..... There is a problem

I doubt we see the Lizard anytime soon. He was criminally underused in the last reboot, yes, but they'll want to avoid any villains from the previous films except for Norman, Ock and Venom. As far as I'm concerned the best option is the Scorpion/ Spider Slayers scenario. But other options would be

Vulture
Mysterio
Tombstone w/ the enforcers

Speaking of Venom, I think Spidey getting the Symbiote in Infinity War is would be a great throw-back to Secret Wars, but it would also mean Venom is the main villain in SM3.

I still want The Vulture please. Cyber version.

I think Spidey getting the symboite in Infinity war also makes the most sense. Best way to introduce it and then we can have a proper Black suit Spidey in the sequel.

Have the death of jean dewolff happen in the sequel and bring on Daredevil. Then bring on some of this in the third:
