Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 3

i like him but i dont know who i would have him be myself.

I still want the Kingpin to be in the background. I want Spidey to team up with Daredevil more than anything. Sony needs to take advantage of that now that they have access to the MCU. A great way to differentiate themselves from the Raimi & Webb series.

I'm waiting for the Spider-Man/Ghost Rider or Spider-Man/Paladin team up. Specially for the first one, i want to see Ghost Rider taking the Hobgoblin's glider mid flight and crushing it on the screen.

I'm waiting for Marvel's Spider-Man & Daredevil to be announced. :o

Oh joe I agree there I would be vastly disapointed if kingpin and spidey never tango at some point. Since we have both in the same universe now.

No, it is in response that he can't play the Goblin. Plus he has a comedic background so I'm quite sure he can handle the Goblin.

No my wanting him is more for Norman. He looks like him and if you seen Breaking Bad, you know how he can handle friendly, menace, intelligence, scheming, and panic.

In a word, he's perfect for the role.

But that doesn't prove he can though.

I would be ok with him as Norman but definitely not as Goblin.

-----------

I would love if they at least hinted Kingpin's presence in the film, something that I really want them to do in this film is to make New York City a character, which is why it's important to flesh out aspects like the police(Capt. Stacey), the media(JJJ) and organized crime(Kingpin).

As much as I would love for Spidey's world to collide with Daredevil's somewhere down the line, I think it's a bit of a pipedream at this point. Marvel movies are having a difficult (purposefully or otherwise) enough time playing nice with Marvel TV as of now... leave alone adding Sony to the mix.

It was one quick reference.

Cranston has a comedic background as well as being a great actor. I'm sure he could handle the Goblin side of the character.

I won't belabor the point because I'm sure some (all?) of you are sick of it. Just adding that I was finishing up watching Breaking Bad on Netflix for the first time when news of the Sony deal broke. People talked about a possibility of Norman Osborn being the big bad for Phase 4 Dark Reign thing and needing a strong presence to anchor the role. Thought Cranston would be perfect.

OK said my peace.

Norman Reedus soul debe a good pica for Shocker.

Cranston could certainly play Norman, but the simple fact is Marvel/Sony need someone who can play him long term, and Cranston is simply too old.

Dom for Norman.

Matthew McCougnahey for any Norman...prepare for incoming "No" comments. :funny:

That was one of my suggestions about a four months ago (maybe you suggested it then too, I don't remember). I'd be cool with it.

My hope is that Norman Osborn stays as Norman Osborn. As an ever-present mover and shaker, he would be a good side character who could eventually become a villain either for Spider-Man or, more preferably, in a Dark Reign style event. I don't want him to be responsible for all the bad guys like they do in the Ultimate Universe or Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon, but an involvement comparable to the 90s cartoon (where he was a powerplayer at the same level as the Kingpin) would work. I do think he should be responsible for the spider like they do in Ultimate Spider-Man. I think that would give his role more substance and meaning and tease there's more to come later.

I know I was joking. Back when McCoughnhey was a rumor everyone was against it. For some reason. I mean an Oscar winning actor that looks like Norman. And your against it.

Maybe it's the accent. I myself think that McCoughnhey would be a good Norman, he is about age, he is a great actor, i can dig it.

Well on the note of the accent. Thats why there are dilect coaches. In all seriousness thats like the people who disnt want Tom because of his mole. Not knowing it can be removed.

The accent isn't a problem for me -- I just don't like MM as an actor in the same way I don't like Marisa Tomei as an actress.

Well, preferences are preferences. To be honest, i myself have no problem with MM but i want Dominic West to be Norman.
