But in order to do that they'd have to throw out his script and start completely from scratch. I just don't see that happening... but again, what do I know. I'm not Feige.

It's that if they use it, they will have to credit him, and his name will be on their movie.

Well, would that be the end of the world? The movie is still a couple of years away, by the time it comes out almost everyone will have forgotten about this debacle. Heck, I'm willing to bet that most people already don't care about it now, and they're probably just pissed that the guy who gave them "I Am Groot" has been fired.

After watching Lone Ranger again last night I think Gore Verbinski could do a job, he has worked with Disney before of course.

Watiti would be a good pick, but his humour is different than Gunn’s, and for me Gunn does the serious moments better.

As likely as it is to happen, I would love to see Gunn come back as I just don’t think here’s is another director like him.

I'm at a lost myself. Waititi seems like the natural choice, but I'd rather they save him for a Thor 4 if that is in the cards. Not to mention the possibility that he may be unavailable.

Maybe Tim Miller? He did fine with Deadpool and has ties to Marvel.

There's absolutely no chance of Disney rehiring Gunn, even with thousands of names on a petition. It would look very bad for them to do that.

Maybe someone else will start a petition to fire him again. Then what? Because there are more signatures there, they fire him again?

I can't recall a petition ever working for situations like this. They rarely work when it comes to trying to bring shows back.
