Who should play Eddie Brock/Venom?

Whether its the upcoming Venom movie or if he appears in any more Spider-Man movies...who should be Eddie Brock/Venom ? (NOTE) I am yet to find anyone in hollywood that I like for the part but these are the guys that I at least think can pull it off. At least every one of these guys is in decent shape already so add a rigorous work out schedule and we're in business. I personally hope it's someone that nobody has heard of. An up and comer that impresses everyone.

thing about him is if this picture had been taken when he was turned sideways...he would have completely disappeared. I just couldn't convince myself that he was Venom. Nor could a lot of people.

Eddie needs to be a big mid to late twenties guy with some attitude. Not a playful carbon copy of Peter like Topher was. Topher was just a sillier more, dramatic version of Peter. No Topher.

All those other guys are too old that are suggested too except for Purcell and he just sucks so...

I voted "Other" as in NO ONE! Villain movies generally do not work on the first hand. And secondly Venom is much too shallow of a character to try to carry a whole movie. Keep him as a supporting piece of a movie. Please... just not in another Spider-Man movie. I could see him [Venom] in say an "Ant-Man" movie or an "Electra" sequel that could go direct to dvd.

A guess if they ever did a Sentry movie he could star for maybe... 3 seconds until he was ripped in two!

Why? Because Hell will freeze over before Venom is made by Sony, get over it. You have a better chance of "black goo" oozing out of you while you fantasize then this movie actually being made.

That's all venom is anyway. A wet dream of adolescence who wish they could grow like the character and eat their bullies. Not to mention using that ridiculous oral cavity on the neighbor next door. When you grow up you'll realize it as a "fetish fantasy" and laugh it off.

The young fan boys "CRIED & CRIED" until Avi (who showed zero insight) crumbled and force Raimi to destroy something that should had been unbreakable. Again the character had its chance and flopped as many older fan knew it would. Let's move forward.

Look at the bright side, you can still see him in Dark Avengers, and the cartoons (where he belongs).

I'm not taking everything you say literally. I do see your sarcastic undertones. Contrary to what you may think...I'm not some **** head 15 year old peeing my pants waiting for a venom movie...I am a grown 21 year old fire fighter who has loved Venom since he was 5 and I am yet to laugh him off. I also believe this movie, although risky...can be a good movie if its complimented with a decent actor and director. To say that he's a wet dream of an adolescent...your dam right. I have never been bullied personally but why do you think so many young people turn to comics. If your going to say that about Venom then why not the Hulk or even wolverine.

I hope that this is what you meant by being sarcastic because Spider-man 3 sucked and not because of Venom. Yes Raimi's verison of Venom sucked but its not the characters fault. It's Raimi's for going the direction he did with the him. Im not sure what you meant by Raimi destroying something unbreakable. If you meant the movie then you are sorely mistaken but we all know that there is a slew of reasons for that which I'm not gonna delve into. Saying that Venom had his chance and that we should move on when the guy responsible for translating him to a film hated the character. Thats just plain unjust. For f**k sake he made him sound like a velociraptor.

Have you seen some of the comic book movie adaptations and how bad they suck? If you have then how can say that a Namor movie will never happen. It should of been made wayyyyyyyy before a lot of the tanks that are out there now.

They did say that Venom movie is currently in development.
Venom deserves second chance on big screen, especially after having a terrible role in Spiderman 3.
Also, I'm positive about this movie because no matter what they do with this movie, it's impossible to get any worse than how Venom was treated in Spiderman 3.
Anyway, I'm fine with anyone on the list, just no more from That 70's show.

I would like to see this movie with Spidey for sure because i think it would struggle with the general audience otherwise.

Well, for a solo Venom film, I'd choose Topher Grace. However, (I forgot who) said that they think Topher wouldn't be able to hold his own film, so, if not Topher, I think I mgiht choose Josh Brolin. However, there are others aout there as well.

I'm all for making Eddie closer in age to Peter, but not Peter's clone.

For some reason, I think Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad", Last House on the Left) would be awesome as Eddie.

As a fan of Brock, it was never about his size for me. They didn’t explore Brock’s relationship with the symbiote, and he called himself “I” instead of “we”.

It’s about doing justice to the material and how you play the role. I loved Grace as Brock. You can see gems in his performance, like when Eddie says, “Hey, Parker!” I could just feel that, so sue me.

They took a giant dump with Venom in Spider-Man 3 and if this actually goes through I'll be glad...I also think Topher Grace would of been a better Peter Parker and was chosen as Eddie Brock so he could never play Peter Parker for a future film by a different director
