I didn't mind the way they portrayed Eddie in SM3. Like him and Peter are two sides of the same coin. It could of been brilliant, if given more time to explore the relationship between them. I mean, Eddie wants Peter dead just because he lost his job? WTF!?! Great story telling Sam...
There was a lot of potential for that story, if there was more focus on it. There should of been a smaller villain at the start, someone like Shocker. Then the relationship between Peter and Eddie could of been touched on more. Didn't Avi say Eddie had a very bad childhood and was the complete opposite of Peter before it came out? Well, what the hell happened to that? It wasn't even remotely touched on. If the character of Eddie Brock was developed more, making Venom a great villain would of been easier. If we actually knew what made Eddie tick, what made him the way he was it could of been interesting. But all we got was a more wise ass version of Peter Parker. If Eddie was actually made into a stronger character Venom would automatically be a stronger character. We could of actually felt for Eddie's plight, or perhaps hated him even more, like how a real villain should be treated. Something Raimi doesn't seem to realize. The villains make a superhero film, they are just as, if not more important than the hero. And I don't care what anyone says, Venom could of been a truly brilliant villain.
