Who says Norman is going down? :gg:

Seriously, I will be upset if it is anyone but Spider-Man.:spidey: It has to be! I could see Pete pushing Norman's buttons to get him to snap and become the Green Goblin.

I can see stillanerd's scenario working, but I'd rather Lily/Menace not be involved.

How's this for a scenario: Pete knows the hope is to expose Norman as crazy. While the New Avengers fight the Dark Avengers, Spider-Man confronts Norman. Knowing he has to do something to stop Norman by exposing him as the Green Goblin once and for all, he unmasks in front of Norman. The memories flood back to him and he remembers his total obsession of Spider-Man/Peter Parker that was only side track by this whole H.A.M.M.E.R./Iron Patriot thing. This causes him to snap, becoming the Goblin personae and is exposed to the country.

No? On a side note about the mysterious re-masking of Spidey. We know Sentry has made everyone forget he existed in the past. Maybe he was the one that helped Pete re-mask and no one remembers. So Sentry, at least subconsciously if not totally knows Pete's secret. Now what if while Norman is prying around in Sentry's brain, he discovers Pete is Spider-Man?

I thought the point was to have as few people as possible know Peter is Spider-Man now.

of course its going to be a three way battle between Sentry, Osborne and Moon Knight (Jake Lockley) to see which one can out crazy the other.
With Deadpool sneaking in, offing Osborn... receiving all the kudos and cash he should have received earlier and proving himself the craziest of them all!

What I meant was, while the New Avengers battle the Dark Avengers outside the Avengers Tower, Spider-Man battles Norman inside an office or secret lair and Pete reveals his ID to Norman only. A little drama that he sacrifices to bring Norman down. Thanks to the handy re-mask thing, even if Norman tells the world, they won't believe it.

A nifty thing is if Norman had security cameras when Pete did this and when Norman goes to the tape for proof, Pete's face is mysteriously blurred beyond recognition.

This whole plan relies on making Norman snap and him going to jail for a long long time.

OK, thinking about it, it probably wouldn't work. But at some point, Norman has to find out who Spidey is in dramatic fashion. It was always the most interesting part of their relationship. Just thought it would be a twist if Pete did it himself.

Sorry to deviate from topic. Botton line: Spider-Man should take down Norman.
'Nuff said!

just a taste of the awesomeness to come...

seriously if franklin richards shot norman osborn in the head, that would make up for all the money i wasted on ultimatum. and brand new day. and every issue of ultimate fantastic four i've ever bought.

and that's a lot of money....

I don't know, a tween shooting a man in the head seems like a bit much.

Got to be Spider-Man... though I have a weird feeling its gonna be Iron-Man.

Don't really care either way, I've had enough of Dark Reign as it is... my critical mind just cant get past it.

Norman... a well known mass murderer... does one good thing and hes hailed a hero and put in charge of all defense?

In reality that would be like if Gary Glitter punched out Josef Fritzel, the government put him in charge of child services and gave him free reign over all the children in the country.

The sentence that answers all your questions about Dark Reign's status quo: People in the Marvel universe are even dumber than people out here in reality.

I'm not so sure of that.... keep in mind their were plenty of people willing to vote for Hillary. :oldrazz:

Just kidding...

Not one person wants to see Bucky take Osborn down. Hmm.

DARK REIGN has been a fine ride in the books that I read that tie into it, even if the premise is almost more unrealistic that being empowered by radiation. It isn't like it is the only thing in comics that is okay so long as you excuse a whale of a premise. ;)

If Steve weren't coming back right now, I'm sure some people would've voted for Bucky. I probably would have. But I think Steve taking Norman down is better symbolism.

Here's exactly what's going to happen, during the final confrontation Steve Rogers is going to beat down Osborn to a pulp. Osborn is going to then say " What are you waiting for? Finish it!" Steve will hesitate and then out of nowhere Doom is going to blast norman's head off. Everybody around the world will see the killing blow and will herald Doom as a national hero and the president will appoint him as the new leader of H.A.M.M.E.R. Doom will then rename HAMMER to L.E.G.I.O.N of DOOM! Then all of the marvel heroes will break the fourth wall and stare at the reader with a dumb look and go "Here we go again!". lol

Spider-Man, Iron Man and Captain America/Steve Rogers.

Personally I think it have to be one of his Dark avengers. It seems fitting that his team should be the one to bring him down.

I'd like to see it be Cap(Steve). If Spidey and Ironman have a hand in it that's fine.......as long as it's not Wolverine!:whatever:

I know a lot of people are pulling for Loki and/or Doom to take Osborn down, and I know Bendis' moral for his events are that superheroes are incompetent idiots who need a dues ex machina or a villain to win their battles for them when it really counts, but I would like for a hero to take down Osborn. For a hero to win one of Marvel's Earth bound events, just once. They could make it the Pet Avengers for all I care, just not another villain proudly shaking his fist and saying all superheroes are idiots, like Bendis seems to like doing.

I'd also like for whatever series that has this happen to not be entirely written by Bendis, but that's unlikely. Still, though, even his stuff co-written with Brian Reed was usually better than this solo rubbish.

We all know who's going to really take him down:

Honestly, if Dr. Doom, Namor, and Loki aren't the ones who take down Norman then I would like to see Spidey be the one to take him down and Wolverine kill him because he won't let Spider-Man do it.

I'd like to see ol' Tony take him down, crushing the Iron Patriot armor, yelling, "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!"
