Not really, I believe filmmakers need to have a break in order to regain their enthusiasm and energy for a project, I'd rather wait 3 years for a great film than 1-2 years for something that is rushed. I'm sure that IF Nolan comes back for the 3rd film he'll follow the same schedule as he has done here...he'll go off and do another project then come back to do his third and final Batman.

Not if they spent longer in pre-production fot TDK and seems TDKR is gonna be a continuation story from TDK it makes sense to get the WHOLE story down pact before shooting which allows for continuity and doesnt allow for actresses to leave before the next film and messing continuity up there too.

Nolan should not do them back to back. I don't even think he should do them one after another. He should do his own films in between each Batman sequel, just so he could get a new story to work with and allow himself to get excited for the sequel when he comes back to it. Whining over the wait for the 3 years before the film comes out is better then whining about the quality 3 years after.

If they started on the third film right after TDK, it would be more like a two year gap instead of a three year.

"Back-to-back" shot films are shot, pre-productioned and shot at the same time, not one after another. If Nolan were to enter into pre-production on Batman 3 right after TDK, it would be nothing more than him entering into his next film project.

just look at Spider-Man 3 .. it SUCKED! now if Rimi had done anything between 2 and 3 im shure #3 would have been alot better

I think those movies are bad because they were slapped-together sequels---the first Matrix and Pirates films I don't think were ever meant to be trilogies.

I wouldn´t want them to do the films back to back cause they usually end up sucking when done back to back ex. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End , really want them to take there time to develop a good story and script for the movie and definitely want Nolan directing and the important cast members back

Oftentimes with creative endeavours a break must be taken so that the project can be approached with a fresh mind. When you get too close to a piece of work you begin to lose sight of the whole picture and often miss mistakes. This is true art, writing, music, and surely film, as well. If Nolan needs to take a break, I say let him. He's pretty much guaranteed to do a better job when he's content and doing things at his own pace.

Finally, thank God Nolan made The Prestige first, because I love that damn film with every fiber of my being.

You are totally off the mark man.... I want a multi dimensional director... not a guy who is going to tie all his efforts into one franchise... if TDK flops and it came out 2 years after BB then Nolan is cooked... but he made some decent films in between... the guy can direct many things... plus these guys need a break... they can't work on the same thing for ten years straight... 3 years in between is the way to go for trilogies... POTC 3 rushed and released 2/3 so close to each other... AWE would have been fine for the summer of 09... and don't give me LOTR because Jackson worked on that since 95 and filmed them all back to back.... it was all one big film... but you look at the Matrix and you see what happens when you rush the sequels... so lets make TDK kick ass... and then worry about filming the third when 2010 roles around
