The Defenders Who will be the villain?

I really have o brush up on my comics. Because I have no idea who that is. I keep hearing about the Hood though. Anyone care to explain? Is he Daredevil or Iron Fist villain?

He's not really part of anyone's rogue gallery in particular. But he has been an antagonist to Daredevil and the Punisher at some point. He has been involved in street crime, hence why people would like to see him in the Netflix shows that are focused on street-level heroes.

Yeah, he's sort of a street-level villain without a particular tie. I saw him in some of the big Marvel crossover events (I think he was in Civil War) and then he appeared in the Mr. Fear Brubaker arc. I never thought of him as a Daredevil villain, just a villain who would occasionally bleed over into Daredevil, but his best stories are completely unknown to me.

ETA: I still think the Hand is a likely Defenders season one villain. But the Hood would work well for season two.

The Hood is a street level thug attitude combined with supernatural. Honestly I'm not even entirely sure why I picked him. He just looks cool with that cloak and 2-guns hehe. To me he's unique because he wants to create a group of villains with a gangster attitude and he's been given that image through the years now. He's similar with Hammerhead, Tombstone and all the other criminal villains but he has that supernatural edge. Basically he's a gangster in a horror world or a horror character in the crime world. :D

Though I don't know his backstory that much on what makes him tick and "human". I've always thought he's reckless but very ambitious so yea he's interesting to me.

I think I have said this before, but forget where, hopefully I'm not repeating myself too much.

The Punisher could be a cool villain for The Defenders.Punisher is not a villain in the traditional sense, but he can be a great antagonist. And interesting. And the morality of his choices I think can be explored better through the eyes of The Defenders. They are suppose to not get along at first either so maybe they disagree about whether or not Punisher is good to have around or not.
I had a similar idea awhile ago. I got scoffed at though (not here though I don't think).

The Hand. They'll probably have ties to many forms of power, whether they be ninja warriors or government insiders or mob controllers.

Spoilers for Jessica jones

I reckon the hand will take the purple man's baby and try to use it for nefarious means. Eventually they'll be forced to break out the kingpin for some reason or at least deal with him

I'm hoping for a villain with an army and a powerful leader. Kinda like a game with a boss. After the spend a couple episodes going through the henchman and different places to find the leader. They encounter him and find that it's not gonna be easy to defeat him. Here's how I'd like it o play out.

Episodes 1-4 and episode for the members all learning of their new villains and assembling or being assembled.

Episode 5-9 a journey as the team learns to work together splits up and looks for clues, trying to locate the villain and stop all of the schemes and activities tries to come up with a name, Danny Rand has Rand Industries so he can easily provide them with costumes and a base(seems like something Luke and/or Danny would do, they could have a bromance throughout the show)

Episode 10-13 the homestretch as the Defenders begin to get closer to the head. A war breaks out and there's a little more adventure through NY, Crimefighting and then they come up with the name in the process of trying to Defend NY become the Defenders. They encounter the powerful villain whomever he may be and either defeat him easily, or he turns out to be some super powered god like villain that they have to team up to stop but have extreme difficulty doing. either that or a final cool battle with some cool army villain of soldier ninjas with guns or some sort of weapons or something. Oh and they need a break up episode. Or two, like they get tired and split up deciding to do things their own way but discover they are stronger together than they are apart. They can kinda be like TV's Fantastic Four

Cage-Thing(Super Strength, Unbreakable, Catch Phrase, Need I Say More?)
Jessica-Invisible Woman(I dunno, female?)
Daredevil-Human Torch(Well, Daredevil Does See The World On Fire.)
Iron Fist-Mister Fantastic(I dunno, male? Rich? Is Reed Even Rich? Hey, gimme a break, I'm tryin. Throw me a bone here!)

I dunno. You guys get the point. :funny:

IIRC,
Kilgrave already took the baby and used it to enhance his powers. It was a blink and you miss it explanation and the taking of the fetus was off screen, but I think they resolved that this season.

Just a heads up, it was announced that The Defenders series will be less than 13 episodes. I believe it was 4-8 episodes.

Believe it or not that's actually a good thing. Especially for a Hero Team Up series. I think 4-8 episodes is a perfect number.

What about Master Khan or Wrecking Crew?

Too soon for Wrecking Crew imo

Actually, I'll agree to that. I feel like we'd need the Damage Control series to hit first and to see if Loki survives Ragnarok first (if he doesn't, I'm sure you can substitute him with Dormammu).

Master Khan and Hood both still seem like the two most obvious to me since I"m not sure if Sony will allow Spider-Man to appear on TV which means that Spider-Queen or Carnage are probably not good choices.

Ratjer strange choice but maybe. We need a smart villainwho is also strong. Someone who could gove difficulty to multiple heroes Like Vandal Savage.

What's up with the love for Egghead? He's an Ant-Man villain and I don't think that he has much connection to the street level heroes.

And with the Ant-Man films, I still feel like Whirlwind, Beetle/Mach, Crossfire and Taskmaster should be higher priorities than Egghead since he's kind of lame TBH. If Egghead shows up anywhere it should be on Agents of SHIELD or the in development Defenders series since he's connected to AIM. I feel like there are other villains who are both more compelling as well as more visually interesting who should have much higher priority.

Mhm, cool. Anyone got any suggestion for villains?

I forgot The Hood was a thing. Great idea.

The Hood leading an army of criminals might be cool.
Same here. The Hood was a character Marvel/Bendis really tried to play up as the next big thing, but just wasn't. However I feel the Defender needs a villain that's stronger than each of them individually but not so powerful they attract the attention of the more powerful heroes. And still be able to be taken down by the Defenders, having supernatural powers can also introduce magic into the netflix series. They need to keep the story and tone of the netflix series in their own little corner. The Hood fits that niche quite well. Though instead of an army of criminal, I picture him leading an underground cult.

What if it's an adaptation of Born Again where both Kingpin and Nuke return?

Forgor the Hand exist too. Infact Defenders might just be an all out gang war the heroes have to end.

So pretty much something like...

Alright, Defenders!
