Who's the most pathetic and useless Marvel character ever?

i'd say fantomex....he didnt stick around too long did he...with his strange spaceship thing and stuff....

he was crap.

My vote goes to Birdboy.....I can't believe Cypher had to die in New Mutants during this sad sad story.

Well if they haven't read it, then how can they bash it?

In any case, it just never stuck with me.
well, it's kind of human nature, forming an opinion based on a passing impression, or heresay. Think about all the people who talk about how much they hate blacks/gays/jews/whatever, but have never even met one. Granted, that's an extreme example, but a valid one.

and ok, he's not your style, but would you really call him pathetic and useless?

My vote deffinitely goes to Squirrel Girl... god how I despise that character.
besides that I always strongly disliked the character Solo.

I was going to say Toad, but Snikt 6 reminded me of Birdboy from the New Mutants. A really, really pathetic character!

Vanguard, did you read GLA?

Only parts of it. but i've read a handfull of appearances of SG's in other comics and i've hated it every time.
I have no interest in reading about a character who's essentially a joke, interacting with the marvel universe i grew up with.

I know lots of people love her but I find characters like that completely detrimental to my enjoyment of comics as a whole.

For example: How can I take established heirarchies of power and formidability seriously when some ****** with squirrel powers can bring down Thanos? or Doom? Entertaining or not, a character like that should never be allowed to exist within Marvel Canon.

so... humor is not allowed in the marvel universe?

apocalypse, he's a crap villain and soooooooooooooo boring. Plus he rarely fights for himself, where's the fun in that?

yeah, I got well and truly tired of Apocalypse a long time ago

Probably any hero who has the same exact powers as some other guy or whos power are just pointless, like knighthawk, Falcon, Goliath, ect.

to be honest my idea of pathetic characters are the ones that are TOO uber. Sentry is tough but he has the void, nate grey burnt out his powers and died, cable's powers nearly killed him, hulk has no control. A characters weaknesses are far more interesting to me than their strengths. That's why spidey's my favourite character, all that power and he could still get taken out by a stray bullet

Paste Pot Pete and his bucket'o'spooge?

I'm gonna have to go with, there are not pathetic and useless characters. They all have they're purposes and bright spots. Everybody except every character in Marville. Yeah, other than that, everybody else rocks, or could rock with the write spin. From Forbrush Man on down to The Forgotten one.

thats not what i'm saying at all.
There are characters who use jokes and then there characters that ARE jokes. SG falls under the latter. I have no problem with funny characters provided there is more to them than that but with SG the entirety of how she operates within the MU and how the MU interracts with her does nothing but make it difficult for me to get into comics.

I enjoy the elaborate history of the comic book universe. I've been reading comics all my life and I enjoy the escapism.
SG makes it more difficult to enjoy. I wanna be able to get into a good story that takes place within the marvel universe, not a story that's only purpose is to be too ridiculous to get into.
If thats what you're looking for then thats fine but it seems to me that it should be seperate.

It's the same with the whole, breaking the fourth wall thing that some characters have done.
I hate that. When i'm reading a novel or watching a movie or whatever I dont want the main characters to suddenly be aware that their actions are fiction. Like how did you do that? "Well I stepped out of the panel of the comic book i'm in."

I dont need to be reminded that i'm reading a comic book. I know what i'm reading isnt real but I prefer the fiction i'm enjoying to not actively sabotage itself. SG is sabotage to the rest of the MU that I enjoy.

i don't consider any of them pathetic or useless but there are definately characters who don't contribute anything to the 616/belong in their own Universe. yeah, i am talking about Howard the Duck, NFL Superpro, and the rest of the joke/spoof characters. they are around because they are funny but that's about it. you can be sure that any story they appear in is to be taken with a grain of salt. they rarely impact continuity in any useful way. for that i'd just as soon see them in their own pocket dimension. the Marvel Universe is supposed to be slightly closer to reality than stuff you'd see in the DC Universe. it doesn't need a Mr. Mxyzptlk, imo.

Artie....Artie Sucks

Beak...Beak Sucks

Bachalo.....Bachalo ****ing SUCKS!

Maggot was Pointless

That Flat chick from the Morlocks.....And Tar baby

Warlock was just annoying..

And Superpro is not a joke, I like him.

a lot of folks hate him becuase of creative orgins and have never actaully read one of his ten appearances.

SuperPro OWNS you all!
