Wow, some guys and gals are gettin fierce over American politics here.
Well what if I put this to you? I'm from Ireland. I'm quite proud of being Irish. I love the Irish flag. However if a film was made in Ireland or about Ireland that carried quite a large profile, and was intended to represent the result of a film-maker's attempts at a serious and legitimate craft.... and before the climax the protagonist walked into the final confrontation backed by a giant CGI waving Green White and Orange Banner as a representation of heroism....I'd be embarrassed, I mean really, I'd be thinking;
"****, is that really how these guys wanted to project the story and message and motivation of a character, I mean I love the flag and the country but this is all a bit much for a 'respectable' film...isn't it? I mean yeah I see what you're tryin to do but it's all a bit, cliche', contrived, even lazy. All very for God and country, for nation and Government, for the aul home soil....I mean there's a lot more to it than a flag if that's the kind of imagery and feeling you're tryin to invoke. That was just silly and unnecessary."
Is this maiking any sense?

Is this guy serious or just incredibly tightly wound? And yeah the Union Flag's fine in James Bond cuz that's a tongue-in-cheek spy movie made 30 years ago in a moment that was intentionally daft. I thought we covered this?
