I think they pretty much nailed it, but the only flaw I could find is that it seemed to be more about the humans than the robots. Which got boring after awhile. But I guess they were saving it for the climax, which kicked several asses btw.
Some people complain about it not being close enough to the cartoon, only a fool would go in expecting a perfect carbon copy of the cartoon. If it was just the same as the cartoon, wouldn't it be boring since we've seen it all before? They were very creative (in a good way) yet still managed to remain true to the basic formula. Giant fighting robots.
