Why American's so fat?

What pisses me off about these argument is the logic that only America is to blame for famine in Africa and the Middle East. Really? Whats the rest of the world doing? What is Britain doing? What is Russia, China, India doing? Nothing.

Then, those same people blaming America, criticize America for getting involved in foreign affairs.

Since you can't refute the argument I'm making, you invent a different point of view, that I don't have, so you can appear to refute something I never even said.

You think I don't blame the right wing republicans in Africa and the Middle east as well? Help the rich and let the poor starve. yeah it's a great economic policy.

over half the population of america is clinically obese, and at least half of those are morbidly obese, eek

And what about those families that don't qualify for food stamps, because not every family does, and the food stamp program is a joke anyway and in a shambles.

the families that don't qualify for food stamps don't need them. they can buy their own food, and stastically speaking, most of them are buying too much food already.

 People get mad at America, because they can. Do you think people in the middle east are able to openly bash their country?

Well this is the first time you've stated either. And honestly, you're known for being highly anti-American on these boards.

I'm known for being anti-American huh? That's a ridiculous stupid statement. If everybody went along with every thing their governments did, than the government would never have any reason to try and do anything to improve the situation.

I am an American, and I plan to live a very long life of serving America. It's not anti-American to want the government to serve America. It's a conservative cop out argument when they are made to look like idiots.

In the words of Rush Limbaugh.

"you know what's wrong with democrats? They spend too much time trying to figure out everything that's wrong with America."

edit.... If you ask hippie hunter, you'd know I look at things from a one world perspective. I believe it's the repsonsiblity of liberals in every nation to speak out against the conservatives in every nation.

Yes, because we ate all the food.

You live in the desert! Go to where the food is! - Sam Kinison

"You see this? It's sand! You know what it's going to be in a thousand years? SAND!!!!! MOVE!!!!!"

Sam was a comic genius. Damn I miss him. And for your listening pleasure, from the Howard Stern show "The Sounds of Kinison"

And this is where you are wrong, there are plenty of families that are just outside the boundries financial wise for food stamps, but still don't make enough to be able to feed their families. There are 2 families like that where I live and the father works 2 jobs and they can barely make it and sometimes him and his wife sacrifice so that their kids can eat. Both families have tried to get food stamps, but they were just over the financial limit to qualify.

did anybody say outlaw fat people or prosecute people for being fat? no. So why prosecute people for encouraging healthy eating habits? What next are you gonna protest outside Richard Simmon's house? He's not evil, just creepy.

You have the civil liberty to be fat, and we have the civil liberty to be grossed out by you. It goes both ways.

except i'm in no way fat, i'm probably in better shape than you. i don't smoke either and i think it's bulls**t that you can't smoke anywhere in california.

I was simply refuting the statement that Americans are overcharged for food. And there is a lot we can do about it. One of these days I will post what I believe to be a good way to create world peace, and end world hunger.

You can't do that. Ever. There will never, ever be world peace nor will world hunger ever end.

One thing cannot exist without it's opposite. It can't. In order for people to eat, some must starve. That's just the way it is.

As for the 'You live in the desert! Go to where the food is!' argument, well, maybe they should. Just because humanity has the capability to live anywhere on Earth doesn't mean we should. And my above argument also applies, for everyone living in prosperity, there's someone living in poverty.

No one can ever say it's unfair, because nobody can control where they're born. I had just enough of a chance to be born in Africa as I did in Brooklyn.

And people (even Americans) need to get two misconceptions about the US out of their heads.

1) We're not the world's hero, we don't need to go all around the world 'saving' the less fortunate.

2) We're not the selfish, food-stealing people some would make us out to be either.

LOL! You're blaming the American people for being fat not the government, nice try dumbass.

not all of us, but some of us

we can save the world. I disagree with Bush's methods though. but we can save the world, but an important part of it is letting people learn from their mistakes. The Iraqis need to learn why it's stupid to be prejudice against ****es, and sunnis. They will only learn that from facing the consequences.

this is my first time talking about obesity at the hype. you said I was known for being anti-america because I despise it's president and republican party.

When did I say that? Show me. Grasping at straws.:whatever:

I don't want to save the world, I don't want the world to save me - Ozzy Osbourne.

Words to live by.

It's one thing to dissagree with one person, but to dispise an entire party is bigotry.

Ummm...... *raises hand* Why does this involve us (or US)?
