spider man 3 fits perfect in the trilogy of ramis spider man movies. there not who spider man/peter parker is nor are the other main characters are. so it fits perfectly in this rimjobed franchise porkin out the cash.

HEY MAN>>>>>>

It's the new trend on these boards, basically. It goes from Superman all the way to here: fanboys trying to show their better fanboys than everyone else by acting like amazing movie material isn't good enough for them and thereby they must of course have such a higher fan-taste than any of us Spider-peons here.

At least that's what they're trying.

I agree with you on all accounts but X3, it is perfectly okay to bash X3! but yes... there is seemingly a desire to stand up and go on and on about how you characters were done great criminal injustice!

so explain to me than...what was the "need" for changing the costume? NONE.

Its a more distinct visual cue to the darker spiderman the costume creates, in that its the same costume but black. The dark side if you will. Using the black costume on its own would lose the power of this distinction as it suggest more he just fancies a new look.

In stuff like this there is no "need" there are only reasons.

The black costume? That's simple. It's more realistic. If the symbiote covered the black costume, it only makes sense that it would really be a black version of the original costume. However, as you can see, there's a change in the material, which shows that the symbiote is covering it.

Also, the comic black costume would probably be almost too dark on screen, and the CGI would look too cartoonish. This costume is easier to see and looks better on screen.

Anyway, if you wanna see the old black suit, go read the comics or watch the cartoons. We're getting a new version, which is fine by me.

No fanboy is stupid enough to think it's even possible to squeeze ever comic story perfectly into a 2hr movie without some cuts to things. it's only needless changes that cause the alarms to go off.

Such as Gwen stacy making a cameo in this as a new love interest. I'm completely baffled by why she was chosen to enter here instead of the first.

This is the Spider-man movie universe. MJ was Peter's first and only love. Too late to complain about that now.

and having a plain black costume wouldnt indicate a darker spiderman? thats a terrible reason. black is generally associated with evil. if he puts on a black costume i think it conveys well enough that he is on the "path to the dark side" so to speak.

did you just its more "realistic"? wow...*goes outside and checks for web-slinging crime fighters*. nope. dont see any. thats a crock. its a COMIC book movie. its not supposed to be the most realistic thing.

i could possibily see the point about the costume being too dark to see but i always saw batmans just fine. and last time i checked he wore black (correct me if im wrong). giant white eyes and a giant white spider logo are pretty hard to miss.

see i hate when people say that. "go read the comics"...thats so pompous. maybe i dont like the fact that they are spitting on it with that horrible costume rendition.

lol, well, the comics and the cartoon are all you have if you want to see the black costume with the big white eyes and the big white spider. What else is anyone supposed to say?

^Go draw a picture of how you want it and refer to it in your arguments???

Well, if you knew anything about these films, you'd know that they are grounded in reality. That's the main reason that the Green Goblin wasn't galavanting around town in green and purple spandex. So you're argument that comic book movies should be realistic is a fairly ****ty one.

Batman is Batman. His world is a dark one. He's meant to be dark, hiding in the shadows, unseen. That's all I need to say about that.

And "go read the comics" isn't pompous. If you want to see the character as he is in the comics, then stick with them, because that's what they're there for. It's as simple as that. This is the movies, not the comics, and things change. It's a completely different universe. Things change. You need to accept that.

Most people just can't seem to understand that some things from a ****ing comic won't be good in a movie. There has to be some level of translation... I'm sure all you geeks would be happy with a frame for frame word for word representation but that's not going to happen.. So cry about it and don't see the movie. Because if you don't want to now you won't want to in 10 months... I don't care about new trailers or anything.. If you're dissappointed NOW then LEAVE.

and reality states that there arent web slinging crime fighters out there. i dont see how the movie is "grounded in reality" if theres a guy like that running around. or even better...poor old aunt may falling not once, but twice, from incredible heights and not dying of friggin' shock (shes a fossil for crying out loud!!!). or even better...instead of galavanting in green and purple spandex, the goblin is a friggin cyborg. but thats reality i guess.

your batman point is moot and has nothing to do with why spidey isnt wearing his all black costume (which is my main argument that seems to have been forgotten).

ive accepted all the mistakes. im fine with them. but you dont go and **** with his costume. its just not right. maybe its not important to the movie fans but i would think it is to the comic fans.

like i said...theres NO reason as to why his costume had to change. NONE. im not looking for little inside jokes, or exact lines, or wacky sound effects. but i expect the movie to do the comics some justice. not doing the costume is NOT doing the comics justice. and considering that raimi is supposed to be this big spidey fan, i just dont see the reasoning behind it.

I covered that point in my post but I'll repeat.

Because the using the original black suit could just as easily suggest that spiderman is trying out a new look, because it is so different.

Having the actual spiderman suit darkened is FAR more indicative of a darkening of the character because it shows them LITERALLY being darkened.

I don't expect to convince you btw sir (i never do with people who speak in such hyperbole) I'm just offering what I think would be hollywoods justification for it, I personally would like to have seen the proper black costume.

yeah but if people can tell the symbiote is having an effect on him and the symbiote is black than im sure they can put 2 + 2 together. your probably right about the reasoning behind it but i definately dont agree with it. regardless i know that all of my ranting will only make it worse on myself. i know im gonna love the movie (or at the very least greatly enjoy) but the costume was just important to me. no matter though...i end my rant here. i had to get that off my chest.

I don't understand. How is too late? A complaint has a time limit?

considering they already filmed Sp1 and nothing can change that
yeah, its too late

YOU are my new favorite person. Seriously. I've been saying that so much...no one gets it. They have this childlike mentality of what they see in their head is "cool" in live-action. It's not. If Doctor Doom acted like the comic version...we'd be watching some major cheese-ball comedy. :) (just an example..I happen to be on an FF kick lately.hehe)

Well thats because SR sucked ass. Whereas spiderman 3 most likely won't given its track record.
