This is about what values we're creating with our means of expression and what implications it has a culture when people stop respecting their holy temple. How will our quality of living flourish in a society that draw lines in sign of what we're going to violate.

Let's switch things on SentinelMind. What if I started a thread claiming that people believing in Jesus and going to Church was a "symptom of moral decay"? I wonder how he would feel. Different strokes for different folks and stop telling others what's acceptable and what's not. Plenty of people could judge you too if they wanted to.

If you believe tattoos are a sign of moral decay and that they are harmful to your body and disrespectful to God or whatever... fine, people have all kinds of crazy opinions.

But that opinion should be about tattoos on anyone... not just women

The fact that you've commented only on women, tried to insinuate that women who get them are doing it out of rebellion or to be more manly... it speaks volumes about how much of a sexist bigot you are.

I think there are such things as masculine traits and feminine traits. I know its not PC to admit those anymore...tattooing your body is an act of "permanently" reconfiguring body God gave to make some short term loud statement. That is associated with masculine behavior.

I...still don't get why you're equating tattoos with a sense of moral decay. It's not like everyone's walking around with tats of the anarchy symbol and stuff calling for people to eat babies while skydiving into a pit of orphans. People have things important to them, roses, logos and symbols, named of a lost one.

I'll respectfully disagree but seriously, dude, this seems like it's personal to you...what is the most damning thing about tattoos to you and why are they such a problem in your eyes? You keep saying it's sad and it's a reflection of our times and focusing on women..what's the big deal here?

Anyways, although I do not think a woman having a tattoo means they are morally bankrupt, I do find them an instant turn-off. As far as I am concerned someone with a tattoo has ruined their body. And before anybody jumps on me for being sexist, I think exactly the same thing with tattoos on men.

I just don't like them.

The standards for both of these things vary between cultures and throughout history.

In western culture, high heels, now one of the most feminine of clothing choices, were originally worn by men.
