Why Craig is so poor as Bond - not a troll post.

SR had good reviews, and most of the critics hailed it as a summer blockbuster, however, it turned out to be a film of Boxoffice mediocrity.

Mediocrity to the tune of $200+ million US, which is plenty more than many films take in world wide. Batman Begins didn't smash records initially but it too pulled in hundreds of millions above it's budget line and warranted a sequel.

I was very very critical of Craig's casting. I was there hating and cringing with everything that they threw at him.....from the "can't drive stick" thing

Hugh Jackman can't pop claws out of his hands. Actors are only "pretending", they don't actually have to be able to do the things they depict. ;)

But Craig can drive a stick, it was all fanboy bashing that blew the car thing out of proportion.

Turns out ALOT of the negatives about Craig were wrong.

He didn't actually have teeth knocked out. Apprently, he had just lost a crown that only took 10 minutes to get replaced.

And, he actually drives stick.

The media and fanboys were just being total ***** with the guy. And that's embrassing for me, as a 007 fan.

I'm shocked that, this thread still open...

Its nice that we can point and make fun of people for lacking faith in TEH CRAIG.

It's embarassing, but that's the internet and the media for you.

The British media (specifically the tabloids) will do or say anything for a story. If Craig had hugged Martin Campbell on set, the tabloids would have snapped it and printed, "GAY BOND LOVES DIRECTOR".

And, I really had no idea it was that insane overseas. I always thought that here in America, the tabloids were worse.......but, when you can actually fabricate story after story....and the truth and facts drown in the murmur....that's just scary, b/c that's alot of power to manipulate.

I am just courious, who the hell buys the tabloids overseas? Like what kind of people care about that stuff?

The working class, basically. The best selling newspaper in the UK is The Sun, which - and this just sums it up - prints a picture of a topless woman on page three every day. And has done so for decades.

Hmm, so thats pretty much the same as the Bild in Germany, which is also making up story after story and sells best here. Worst is, people believe the bull written in it.

Haha. Very stylish.

I remember when Thatcher tried to end that, the cheek (pun intended).

With regard to Craig being better looking than George Lazenby or Lazenby being ugly - unless you live in a parallel universe where this guy wasn't Bond, it's impossible to say Craig is better looking or Lazenby was ugly:

Dalton - classically handsome man - Craig isn't. Dalton looked like Bond, Craig doesn't. Believe what you want but your eyes don't lie.

Time to stop thinking Craig looks like Bond - he doesn't. No Eon Bond actor has ever looked remotely like Craig and no Eon Bond actor could ever be regarded as ugly.

You're too much.

Something doesn't add up. If Craig is so amazing, why have Eon and Sony put badly acted lines in the trailer and tv spots? Where is the proof Craig is so amazing? I can't see it in the trailers and tv spots. Where's his Bond confidence? I see none of it. Okay, they're just tiny snippets but they're meant to sell the film to the public. I don't think they work. I''m not sold on Craig so Sony and Eon have failed one Bond fan - me.
You're no loss as a fan.

I'n not believing one word of any review, nor one word from any fan that's gone to a preview screening because as annoying a person as I can be here, I trust my eyes and ears. Craig looks and sounds uncomfortable - the delivery seems dour and monotone - that is my evidence - my proof.

So you don't believe anyone, and you expect someone to provide you with proof? Go see the film, its the only way your going to find out.

I would like to be the first to announce that this thread couldn't be any further from the truth.

Craig is most definitely James Bond.

I dont think so,its a poor attempt to change what is Bond.It sounds too much..like an American film,it needs the class of a British film to be a Bond film. The last real Bond film was Goldeneye.

You havn't even seen the movie so right now, your just chatting a load of air.

I just asked out a girl from college to come see Casino Royale with me, she said no because Pierce Brosnan wasn't in it!!! DAMNIT ALL TO HELL *POUNDS FIST ON SANDY BEACH*

Craig owns the roll, THE MAN IS BOND. This is the Way Bond is ment to be LEAN, MEAN BADASS KILLING MACHINE

After seen CR Craig is BOND without a doubt, I admit I doubts about Craig cos of roles he played before 007.

Daniel Craig is James Bond: Craig was like a fresh orange juice next to your breakfast LOL. The franchise needed a new things done other wise 007 would been dead for years if nobody rescued Bond and Craig brings toughness Connery had but also be valuable (sp?) ability in situations which Connery didn’t have.

The music was great and has always David Anold did it again but I hated his score on DAD so this was fresh music on film, James Bond Theme always great but this was better score for new Bond film. I hated You know My Name it didn’t feel like a Bond song.

The women were sexy has always but Eva Green was different kind of a woman I mean she didn’t fall in love with Bond straight way and I think she was badass.
Dench as M was great as always an better written in Casino Royale.

Bond villans was great as always.

This Bond had the feel of all the elements you read in an Ian Fleming novel. There were a lot of things about him that I liked, from his brute attitude to the play between him and Vesper. Casino Royale was the much needed rejuvination that Bond needed. Le Chiffe was a villain that was very believable. M was like the Fleming version and some hints of the Bernard Lee portrayal. All in all; Casino Royale shows that Craig is Bond
