Why do you like summer movies?

Just wondering what everybody likes about summer movies...

For me, it's nostalgia and being able to go to a movie and be a kid again if even for only an hour and a half to two hours and forty minutes. It's a great feeling. Even though I'm only 19, there's still a sense of 'being a kid again.'

Just wondering what everybody else looks for in a summer movie going experience.

I love summer movies because they are the most fun movies of the year.
You spend a year or two anticipating it, and when it is released and you are sitting in that seat, you feel like a kid again. I go to enjoy myself and have alot of fun.

I love waiting for summer movies that are 2-3 years away and when they finally come out... they suck! Anyone else love that?????

But I love summer movies just for the fun, well the good ones that is.

I'm not big into indie art house films, dramatic movements...all I want is a great story, a dream like scenario that is like nothing in real life, I wanna see Bruce Wills shoot two guns while flying through the air after a bomb exploded, or Jack Sparrow in a three man sword fight, or a giant ****ing transforming robot. It is an escape, one reason I don't like indie/art house films, is cause movies about real people are a lot more dull than real people themselves, so I don't wanna watch movies about stuff that are real really

its fun, an adventure, escapism...all four of those options work

Yeah. By the time summer comes around... I just want to escape. Three most anticipated movies: Spider-Man 3 (rocks!), Transformers and Die Hard 4.

Just to have a fun, if the movie is really good in all terms (quality, story, characters, cast, direction, action, critics' reviews, box office numers and etc)

i dont really watch them because they're "summer" movies. i watch them because i'm interested in them. even if they were released in the dead of winter i'd still be lining up at the box office.

To escape the monotony that is life. But for quality movies autumn is always the best.
