First Avenger Why Does Everyone Want a Body-Building Captain America?

If they were giving Oscars for that role, he would win it.

Brad Pitt size is cool, like in fight club or the bulkier version in Troy.

I don't like Brad Pitt for Cap. I just think he looks to effeminate for the role.
I know he can be a tough guy, Snatch, Fight Club, Mr & Mrs. Smith etc. but he's not my first choice for Cap.

That is true. Every role he has ever played, has been the same role. That older dude from Dazed and Confused that likes to bang high school chicks.

I disagree with that, actually. He played very different characters in 'Reign of Fire' and 'Frailty' than what we normally associate him with.

I actually don't think that he lacks talent; just ambition and drive.

I think he's gotten lazy and sees the 'cut and paste' standard rom/coms as an easy paycheck to supplement his surfing/beach bumming.

I see it as a shame because he's got the ideal physical attributes for Cap imo.

I saw those movies, and he basically was the same guy, only slightly different due to circumstances. He was the creepy older guy in Dazed and Confused who just so happened to have survived a Dragon based Apocolypse in Reign of fire, and he was the creepy older guy from Dazed and Confused who just so happened to have been a child serial killer.

He played a different character type brilliantly in Reign of Fire.

I must be one of the only people in the world who liked that movie. :word:

I liked it too, but you could tell when he wasn't being all big bad American with a tank Dragon Hunter, he was scoping the underage cuz he keeps getting older while they stay the same age. :o

Not to me. He seemed like a badass American dragon hunter, IMO.

I liked him in both Dazed & Confused and Reign of Fire. Why the hate Anubis?

I don't hate Mcconaughey, I'm just wise enough to distinguish mildly entertaining stoner antics from acting ability. :)

It would seem so Grasshopper. It would seem so. :o

Thats hilarious

So then he would be the creepy older guy in Dazed and Confused grandfather who just so happened to be the test subject for the super soldier serum to you Anubis?:cwink:

Anubis, especially for you:-

More like, an alternate universe version of the creepy older guy from Dazed and Confused who was born in the early 1900's, who smoked so much pot that he couldn't make it into the army but since he was such a useless Stoner *****e bag the US government went ahead and pumped him full of chemicals and Vita Rays and made him their Stoner Jail bait humping Super Soldier.

Im picturing Steve Rogers being injected withthe SSS while naked playing the bongos

'Steve Rogers being injected with the SSS while naked playing the bongos'........

Hmmmm, wasn't that in issue #178?

I find McCaunaughey to be very engaging. He's as much an "action" guy as he is a relationship comedy guy. I thought he was good in "We Are Marshall" and "Two for the Money".

Again, maybe it's just be me. Never really been a fan of his girly flicks, but he seems to take hold of whatever seen he's in.

I think the stereotype he has outside of his film work is what too many people latch onto.

BTW, why can't I use an avatar? Anyone know? Is it because I'm still relatively new?
