I don't understand. Have you seen what is happening to thoughs poor bastards at the X-men 3 boards? it is sad. After SP3 everyones contract is up. The chance of everyone returning to SP4 is slim.

Why would you all want to take that risk? Especially with such a huge story like venom. I would rather them slim it down, & fit it into one movie than risk the chance of it going into another movie with different actors.

I don't. remember the matrix sequal had that cliffhanger which sucked and thats why i dont want a cliffhanger

Everyone else wants a Spidey 4 and a cliffhanger would make sure of that, but spidey 4 with Venom sounds lame if you ask me

Yeah I don't get the cliffhanger thing. For some reason no one thinks that they can have 3 villians in one movie because there won't be time to introduce them all. Meanwhile GG2 is already introduced with his backstory and Sandman can start as Sandman and have his backstory told through a short dialogue or news reports. That leaves plenty of time for Brock/Venom. The first movie had many more characters to introduce and the movie was fine and didn't feel rushed. I would hate a cliffhanger, it would make me more pissed than excited.

The reason people want a cliff hanger is that on the surface it looks like they want to cram too much into this movie. A lot of people love Venom and to shove his story into a movie along with ending the goblin legacy and introducing sandman sounds like Venom won't get the justice he deserves.

Why was 2 better than one? BEcause for one they only had to develope one character's story. Doc Ock.

How can you develope not only the story of 2 new villians but Gwen and Captian Stacey and do all the characters justice?

Look at how bad everyone is saying X3 is! Do we want that to happen to Spider-Man?

And the only one who said they definetly wouldn't return is dunst. Again Sony said they will make 6 and I'm confdent they will. And how many imes did they replace Batman? Not that it didn't hurt the franchise, but they still did it. I don't think Sony and MArvel is going to plan 6 movies and do 2 compleely differnt trilogies. That would be dumber, to start all over again!

I would expect that is why Gwen was introduced. I am almost postive that Dunst will not be making it out of this movie alive. My thing is that to me there is too much to risk leaving a cliff hanger. There is no Gaurantee that Tobey will return. I think I heard some where that Sam said he might not return. To risky, way to risky. I say end it without a cliffhanger that they can try & seperate the 2 trilogies.

I want a cliffhanger, but not to save Venom for S-M4.I'm glad the three villians (GG2,Sandman,Venom) will all be in S-M3 together.I just want to see a Lizard cliffhanger to show that he will be the new villian in S-M4.

1.) 2 being better than 1 is your opinion, and not a fact.

2.) Even if 2 is better than 1, it ain't merely because they only had 1 character to develop (which is actually wrong to begin with ;))

Look at how bad everyone is saying X3 is!

Actually a lot of people on the X3 forums liked X3.

Statistical fact: Over 80% of the people who voted on the X3 Reviews thread thought X3 was Average, Above Average, or Excellent. So, I don't know who this "everyone" is.

this movie is centered around the symbiote/Venom story. that means that GG2 and Sandman will be built around that them. even if Venom only appears for the battle royale at the end, the whole movie will build up to his appearance.

now, why would they make a movie about the symbiote story, have venom appear for a minute at the end, and end the movie? leaving fans to wait for over 3 years to find out what happens? and the chances are that most of the original cast won't return for a 4th.

STUPID. they would never do that. there wasn't a real cliffhanger after SM1 or SM2. they were both their own complete stories, and SM3 will be the same.

the moviemakers aren't stupid enough to do a serious cliffhanger.
(and btw, the end of X3 isn't really a cliffhanger. that just leaves the door open for another sequel.)

Pretty much.

And exactimundo.

Truth is they figured GG2 would be boring to moviegoers if he was the main villain in this movie. But they knew people wanted to see his story told.So they have him as the villian in the beginning of the movie and gets defeated.

They knew spidey needed another villain to fight and they couldn't have Venom be the main villain when spidey will be wearing the symbiote. So they got the Sandman to take that spot.

And then we see spidey dealing with all the things he dealt with in the movie at the same time.We see him dealing with Sandman,we see him dealing with the symbiote in the form of Venom, and we see spidey dealing with GG2.

no, no, no.

GG2 is not a boring villian. in fact, he's a pretty important character, since he's peter's BEST FRIEND. he'll be around until the end of the movie, or until the "battle royale".

same goes for sandman.
and thats where venom comes in.

He meant boring in terms of "another Goblin being the main villain".

Perhaps you have misunderstood me. I never said that X3 was had a cliffhanger. In fact I haven't even seen it yet. I am going on the fact that other people have been dissappointed by it.

X2, however did have a cliffhanger. If SP3 were to have a cliffhanger then it could suffer the same fate that X-Men is going through.

That is why I am asking why people seem to be wanting a cliffhanger in SP3. There is a chance that SP3 (do to shaky contracts after SP3) could be the last great Spidey movie.

That is all I am saying.:wolverine

We need a cliffhanger so we can have Venom for SM-4! And maybe Electro, or Scorpion, or Lizard! Yipeeee!

whoa, someone with a brain here, nice. there is no need for a cliffhanger, I have a feeling all SPider-Man movies will stand on their own. Even if it means the symbiote and eddie being seperated at the end after one big battle and then coming back in a future movie.

Thats exactly why im thinking the possibility of them filming 3&4 together is somewhat good

I just don't understand...as someone who wants to be an actor (me), I don't see how people can give up roles and deny roles in movies you know that are going to be seen and remembered YEARS from now. What is Dunsts gonna go back and make Lifetime movies again? PFFFFFFFFFfffff...

Dunst aint gonna go anywhere after Spider-Man and sad to say but I hope im wrong but i dont really see Tobey going that far either

I don't really want a cliffhanger without confirmation of a fourth movie.

on another note:

Why does the Cliffhanger have to be at the end?
Can't it be somewhere near the begining or middle, like all of a sudden, either John Jameson or Curt Connors winds up missing and the place where someone was supposed to meet them is a wreck, and not answered till the next movie, when we find out that all that happened was that they either turned into Man-Wolf or Lizard.

yeah but cliffhangers right at the end are always better cause they leave u just begging for more
