Just what the title says! Why is everyone on this forum so mature, both in terms of biological age and behavior? I swear, I might be among the youngest users here (17).

I mean, the only other forum that I have been to that wasn't littered with trolls and immature fanboys is the Zeldauniverse forum. The Godzilla forums are absolutely polluted with these kinds of people: even the older members in their 20s and 30s tend to act like children and whine whenever somebody disagrees with their opinion.

Because all of the fun loving, tongue-in-cheek talking, immature folk were banned. Welcome to the hype; where big brother is always watching.

This place is filled with teenagers and adults that act like teenagers either by choice or by some chemical imbalance.

I joined 9 years ago and this place has changed over time. It used to be a lot more wild and a lot more fun. Hype Survivor was the chit 6 years ago. Now...2 people would sign up.

I'm not going to lie, I have a short fuse and I'm an A-hole at times. I have moments of maturity and moments when I act like a big ****ing baby.

I guess what I'm saying is this place isn't mature and I'm often not being mature. But I've been here for 11 years so I'm doing something right.

Yeah, it isn't perfect, but just compare this site to the cesspools that are IMDB, GameFAQs, Yahoo, Youtube, etc. The mods do a good job running this place.

It depends on your definition of mature. I think we have a little more security here than other boards so you can't just post whatever the hell you want constantly and it slides. Basically we're forced to be.

I like it here better than other forums due to a few reasons, the first being that while we can act like idiots we do have limits that are enforced fairly a good amount of the time. Another is that while many of the forums down below are crazy and fairly stupid sometimes it stays mostly contained within themselves so the crazy doesn't spill out into all forums.

I've been on this site over 10 years and have spent most of it avoiding the X-Men and Spider-Man boards because of the lack of maturity which sucks because those franchises were the reasons why I joined this site in the first place(I was going to include Batman in this but Nolan's reboot hadn't came out yet) and ended up being the reason why I stopped visiting it regularly for almost 2 years. But for the most part the mods do a good job policing the asylum.

I can't speak to Godzilla fans, but Zelda fans are just the worst. And I have been playing Zelda games since the 80's.

But I do think that overall this forum has a higher quality of discourse than most.

This board is more mature than other online forums in the same way Yemen is slightly less violent than Syria. It can still be an unholy mess at times.

I'd say this forum is more passive aggressive. But to be fair, I steer clear of the Batman forums, where I hear things get heated.
