Why is the Hood's gang so boring and unimpressive?

I enjoyed the Hood in Beyond!

I don't have anything else to contribute.

Beyond sucked, the Hood's mini however had greatness in it. And no self respecting villian would follow a guy that can turn invisible and walk on air (his powers are second rate, that was his point).

The biggest problem I have with the gang though (beyond Thunderball being written as an idiot, or purple man's inclusion, or jigsaw becoming a yes man toady) is crossfire. His whole point was that he HATES ALL SUPER POWERED BEINGS! He wants everyone to be normal and to control any situation. Does this seem like a guy that would join a team of superpowered beings as a lackey?

Oh you mean other than the decompressed storytelling and out of character wackiness, coupled now with mysoginistic and in a sense animal abuse?

New and Mighty Avengers pisses me off because the potential was there Post Civil war.

Serves you right for believing Bendis could use that potential well.

He ruined it by depowering Dr.Strange to uselessness and continuing to not know how to write team books for me.

If they kept up the drug addict angle and that the sentry was the false being then he would be both complex and interesting. Unfortunately Marvel decided to just pretend away that good premise for a cookie cut "superman" but with less action for the Marvel U.

Boo Sentry, hooray beer!

Gross. I think it's time for another intervention. :(

Anyway, the Hood's gang didn't impress me much either. Personally, I think they suck because they're being led by the Hood. Self-respecting villains who can actually stand on their own two feet wouldn't be caught dead with that punk-ass loser.

I believe Bendis was trying to make the Hood like Michael from the Godfather, an up and commer who becomes the don by the end of the movie. the problem is he didn't start out as the don at the beginning of the movie and killing Mo Green was more impressive than killing Owl.

If this were supposed to be the story of the Hood's rise from upstart to kingpin, why does he already have relatively big names with disproportionate power levels backing the Hood? Why would the Wrecking Crew join up? Any one of them could kill the Hood in their sleep. Why would the Wizard stoop so low as to work for some no-name punk? I think Bendis should've devoted some more time to building this story rather than just tossing the Hood out there with an army already behind him.

Hahahaha, Red Stripe!

I'd like to know more about the Hood turning into that white martian a few months ago. Wtf was that?

The beating he gave Tigra was intense though. I almost felt bad for her but then I remembered she was a spy for Tony during CW. ***** :o

Too be fair the Wrecking Crew have always been followers, not leaders, so them taking orders isn't too out of character. Plus Wrecker will be grateful to the hood after he freed him from prison.

You can given an explnation to Wizard too... Wizard has reaized that most of of his Frightful for teams have failed because, despite having book smarts, he lacks the street smarts and people skills to create a truly impressive group and keep together. So he is part of the Hood's gang, so that the Hood will do all the leg work and networking, so when the Hood faulters, Wizard can swoop in and gain control. That would make sense and would be the most clever thing he has every done.

Again with a few explanations bendis can make most of the team work, though why he choose Foolkiller, is beyond me.

I believe the hood is turning Parker Robbins into a demon.

Didn't the Wrecking Crew just free themselves from prison? And the Wrecking Crew may be followers, but the Wrecker is a leader. They very rarely work with anyone else, yet here they are, taking orders from a guy who's vastly less powerful than any of them.

If you'd like to read the hood well written check out BKV mini the hood and it'll show how he got the powers.
