Superman has been in His glory in comic book world , SInger is takin Backwards steps for Superman , he givign the world an AGED SUPERMAN , that the world doesn't care for.

And sadly we will never get to see Darkside on the screen

And for all the "Smallville" vs "SR" people...come on...Of course they do not tell the same story. Of course it will differ a bit from the comics and the films. But I'll take Clark Kent every week as opposed to nothing. Obviously the "Smallville" timeline is outside of the comic and film continuity...So what?

"Smallville" has brought an entire demographic to Superman that never would have been there were it not for the show...People should rejoice for the fans that "Smallville" has brought to the Superman universe.

^He's right, the show did kind of bring Superman back into Pop Culture...but I think Superman Returns will, in the end, be the launch of the SuperHype(on the same level as Batman '89 maybe?)

and about Superman2 massacres CK-- come'on dude, that's pushing it dont you think? at most it overemphasizes the geeky side of Clark, but its not a total fake, Clark is geeky.

people have got to get their heads around the whole Superman/Clark Kent persona. none of them are truer than the other, they are merely facets of the same guy: Kal-El.

It brought it to them at the expense of really ruining alot of the dignity of the Supes mythos for the sake of ratings and attracting the WB teen soap crowd.

Its good they have their own 'Clark Kent' show for them but it certainly isnt the one for me..

Superman Returns seems to be trying to attract even larger numbers in wider demographics but not totally reinventing or selling out to sexploitation and other cheap attempts; keeping it true to the essense of the first film.

Hopefully it is successful.

It was crazy for Superman to talk of himself in third person, when Lois already knows its him. I love how Singer is portraying him. w00t w00t for Bryan Singer directing Superman Returns.
