Why the Hate for this Movie?

you can thank Batman!:hehe:

Sadly, there is some truth to that. I'm sure Nolan's vision will be overly used as justification by many studios and directors to abandon as much fantasy as possible. Usually followed by all the quotes about non-fans, the general audience and those campy, silly Spider-man films.

Ya, certain things could thrive with a more grounded realism to it such as James Bond. However they are seeming to go wild and trying to make everything "realistic"

and sadly, what works for Batman may not work for everything else. DB is one of those franchises where realism was thrown out the window, people died went to hell and were able to come back, c'mon. People shot fireballs, flew around and fought each other with punches and kicks at speeds of 100 mph, how tha hell could you possible add realism to all that madness. That's like taking Sonic the Hedgehog and trying to make a film grounded in realism.

They grounded X-men in reality.

And thats more unreal than most superheroes

Grounding superheroes more into realism isn't that big of a deal, because they are already inhabiting a world very much like our own. Heck, it's basically our world, with appearances of George Bush and Schwarzenegger being mentioned as Governor.

Dragonball takes place on a complete different earth, with completely different looking continents. With Fantasy creatures, future tech, and magical beings.

With 40 years of history you pick whatever you think is fitting. The X-Men didn't visit the Savage Land or the home of Doctor Strange on a daily basis. And since you find most of the otherworldy elements not in the heart of the United States, no one was exactly missing those elements.

I only agree on the robot part. The movies should've had Sentinels and we would've already gotten them in X2 if the people at Fox wouldn't have been so cheap.

Anyway, point is X-Men and other superheroes take place in modern day earth, basically our earth, while Dragonball takes place on a totally different earth. Where Dinosaurs and other creatures in the wild are about as common as Lions in africa.

Yeah but that can easily be changed, i mean nobody wants to see Pigs or Dogs standing upright talking in human clothes.

Dinosaurs would have been good but there not needed and thatd cost lots of money.

You want a good Movie, you shouldn't be afraid to spend money. Dragonball should've been something otherwordly, something fantastic. Like I mentioned in another post before, Dragonball could've easily been the next Neverending Story.

Instead it looks like Bulletproof Monk.

Wasnt never ending story that kids film with the talking animals? god no.

The dinosaurs would look cool but theyd be made realistic looking anyway, its not a vital part to the story. It can look good without the cheesy stuff.

Vital to the story? No. Vital to establish that Dragonball earth to be completely different from ours? Yes.

Not everything needs to be vital to the plot. But it's necessary to establish Dragonball's world as a fantastical place.

Yeah they serve no purpose than making hardcore fans happy, im sure most fans dont care

Dozens of giant random creatures in the background in Star Wars don't serve any purpose, other than to establish the fact that you're on an alien world.

Dinosaurs and fantasy creatures in the background would establish the fact that Dragonball is a fantastical world.

Thats another planet this Dragonball is set on an alternate earth.

And Dinosaurs arnt done often because there hard to do Jurassic Park is about them, King Kong needed them but itd cost them a fortune.

They wouldn't want to spend so much money and time on something like that.

Dragonball earth is almsot another planet. That's the whole point of our debate. It's not just an alternate or parallel version of our earth.

But then nonfans would go, "This looks too weird and stupid." Trust me, I would know.

And still not our earth. Why is that so difficult to get in your head?

This earth has dinosaurs and talking animals. That's the world of Dragon Ball.
