Why the Hate for this Movie?

really? there was nothing in there that really excited me what-so-ever. the ONLY thing i would call remotely cool was someone flipping and about to land on someone who was doing a hand stand and even that shot was flaky.

You gotta laugh at these people saying "This movie ruined by childhood"

DBZ is good an all but what kind of crappy childhood did you have if DBZ made your childhood.

yes...let's laugh at people who can see that Fox is butchering this movie. :whatever: gotta love it when people who like what they see are so insecure that they feel the need to make fun of differing opinions.

People have complained non stop for a year over a 90 minute movie theyll see anyway. People who say its gonna be bad or unfaithful, that there not gonna see it yet continue to come on here daily.

I cant believe how some people can take a typical movie based on a simple anime so seriously.

If they like the anime so much stick with that the movie wont affect it.

*sigh* another person who's complaining about people complaining. i find that people who talk about other people are running out of good things to say about the movie. how about you stop talking about the people talking about the movie and talk about the movie instead?

you're here everyday aren't you? you have a DB avatar and most of your posts are made in the DB forums. James Wong went through the trouble of making a live action Dragon Ball movie. why is it so hard to think that people take Dragon Ball seriously? if they think of it as a joke then they obviously wouldn't be here.

this is the first official live action Dragon Ball movie. it affects the franchise as a whole. if you don't like what we have to say that you get to the point where you have to talk bad about fellow fans then you might as well just put us on ignore. there is no harm in that and it's better than coming off as an intolerable prick.....so quit trying to run us out of these forums.

Id took about the movie but id be repeating things ive said to the same repetitive complaints.

Im here because im looking forward to seeing it and am going to see it, yet others hate the whole thing wont see it but come here.

Dragonballs good i watch it for entertainment nothing serious about it, yet people like you keep going on about whats wrong with it when theres nothing you can do.

You keep trying to turn people off it if someone makes a positive comment you have to say something negative back.

Then when they say something back you act all smug and arrogant like now.

more talk about PEOPLE instead of the MOVIE??? call me whatever you want, but i think you should chill with the bashing on people. are you here to talk about the movie or are you here to talk about the people here?

Im here to talk about what everyone else is talking about if that involves people so be it.

But theres no need to be smug.

Actually, I was totally optimistic and excited for this movie. Fox has unfortunately slowly and surely weened away my interest.

You should probably read this, just might change your mind (or not)

First off, we love your enthusiasm for the film. We are so sorry to ask that you remove the content. It is not meant to irritate or discourage you and your readers from following this film campaign. It’s just that the pieces of content that are being leaked were not created to be used this way. They were only meant to be shown to potential Licensing & Merchandising partners who need to make partnering decisions far in advance of release date, and the content has not been approved for online use. Elements like music clearances and even talent approvals have not been pursued because we had no intention of having this go online. Alot goes into a trailer or video being authorized for online use….
We had hoped to have a really kick-ass trailer done by MAX PAYNE’s in-theater date, but because alot of effects shots are still being worked on - we’ve decided to wait until there is more material to work with, so we can really “wow” you and the fans. This is not uncommon for a film that still has 6 months until it goes in theaters. It looks like the real trailer will be released a little later in the year.
Again, thanks for all your interest. I am happy to update you when we get new artwork and approved video to distribute. We appreciate you removing the content, and don’t mean to cause you any headaches with your readers

Well, right now I'm severely disappointed. But of course I will still follow all the news, and if I start to see things I like, of course my opinions aren't set in stone. :)

Awesome, just trying to let the word out.

P.S: It was shocking for me also when I saw the Dragonball Footage from the Expo. It was a lackluster trailer that was horribly arranged. So hopefully Fox is being sincere and they actually give us an exciting and coherent trailer/teaser. :word:

This really isn't that surpising. Fox has pulled this bs before. They pulled out of comic-con 2007 at the last minute because they had no AVP:R footage to show.

I guess I was right all along about the trailer released on October 17th not looking significantly better in a week and a half. It's no wonder Fox didn't want the awful looking promo trailer to be released.

This film is going to suck monkey balls, I hope it flops so hard. Yes I have complained about it before but no one and I mean no one (Bullza) is going to make me stop moaning. Fox sucks and so do their ****ty movie, I knew this film was a bad idea from the start and Fox just keep providing more evidence as to why this is film will be ****.

The movie is a bad adaptation, but still that doesnt mean the movie will be bad, at least is like "scary movie" "meet the spartans" "date movie" quality, then i will be hating the movie after i watch it.

But if is like "forbiden kingdom" kind of movie, then i will ok

And no, my love for DB wont be ruin by this movie

I dont think this film will kill a fan's love for the serious, but its still sad to see a great anime like this get done horribly when it hits the big screen

It was never intended to go to theatres, Fox told IGN it probably wouldn't be with Max Payne after the promo was made.

To be honest, I think this movie could go either way and I have all along... However I am hoping for a decent film :)

I except something as good as X-men 1 which is alright

I expect a fun yet mediocre movie which will hopefully lead to a kick-ass sequel which would be on par with most superhero franchises today, including Batman Begins which I found to be mediocre.

i predict that this movie (and any sequels that MAY follow) will not hold a candle to Batman Begins.....even in BB's mediocrity. if BB could be considered mediocre (which i don't agree), it's an entirely higher level of mediocrity than this film.

To each there own... I give Begins some edge in terms of style and visuals, but over-all the movie is disjointed mess, with hokey plot points, and actors fitting really awkward in charicture roles that don't really become real till Dark Knight, plus the action is crap. So I could see myself easily liking this more than Begins, if it at least a fun ride. :)
