Why the Hate for this Movie?

Because it would look terrible. Jesus it is like you were a consultant on this film. This isn't hard.

Dont worry. Their PR people are probably on this message board trying to hype up the trailer before its released. :woot:

i hate the gel in the hair. i really do.
i dont use gel. milions of people dont use gel. goku would never use gel. so why gel?
why a 1 hour gel styling hairstyle?
and whats up with the black leather jacket? i dont use a leather jacket. i mena why a leather jacket?
it has nothing to do with realism that he has a leather jacket and gel in hes hair. its because they ........dumb

Because he's da Fonze. "Ayyyeeeeee!!"

Seriously, it just shows that even when they go for the realistic look, its the same same tired old cliched look seen in a million films before.

Final Fantasy 7 was dark and more realistic thats the most popular game too.
the Final Fantasy games aren't sequels or adaptations of one another though. each game, minus the combat systems, are basically it's own game with different characters, different settings, and different styles. FF7 worked as a dark fantasy because it was tailored that way.

But it followed the previous 6 that had goblins, castles and knights, it changed in tone and it sold 10 mil copies when it went back to castles and knights with FF9 it sold about half as many.

Haha.

*copies the hokie* yeah, his hair is naturally ridiculous so it would've looked that way no matter what they did. :D

Hmm then how exactly do you expect to have that huge friggin hair???
you dont need ''wet look expensive'' gel to make this kind of hairstyle.

lets nto forget wolverines hair in X2.

The problem is it doesn't look wild. It's just gelled up.

I hope this movie is going to be on par with "the mummy" Which I still love as a mindless action flick.. so If its atleast that good..... I'll be happy..

The movie looks about as dark and edgy as a spoon.

The Dragon Ball material got pretty violent and intense at times as well.

doesn't mean it has to be R.

And boy if it was rated R, that would just kill the movie as a whole. Goku is pretty iconic in Japan, dont know if he may be as iconic as Ultraman or Kamen Rider, but he's pretty big. Putting an R rating on this movie and upping the violence may over do it

It shouldnt be R it was watched by millions of kids and wasnt that dark.

I never said it had to be R.

The point is that people act like this is some dark and edgy looking movie and they made it dark and edgier than the manga/animation.

Give me a ****ing break. That's ********.

Nobodies acting like that at all actually

honestly, i'm tired of seeing the words realistic, serious, and dark in the DB forums. i understand trying to make it more like those words but the problem is that it doesn't look like they're accomplishing those things. Hellboy 2 is a great example of how Dragon Ball could've been a dark, realistic movie without taking the fantastical elements. that movie takes place in OUR world, yet the variety and amount of creatures and non-human entities in HB2 rival most Star Wars flicks....and all of that was done with a budget of under $100 million.

i'm tired of seeing everyone make excuses for why Fox went the route that they did and it's really disturbing to see much of the fan community stick up for such a half-assed effort. you shouldn't reward/defend slack, you should reward/defend excellence.
