Why the Hate for this Movie?

ya know, doom was the only thing that I didn't like in the 1st 1. I'm still kinda surprised marvel let fox make their most popular villain a green goblin knock off? and than when they started to fix him, they made galactus even worse. but I still kinda like those movies. mostly cause of the silver surfer!!!
The looks of the characters (minus Sue and Reed) were spot on. I love the casting for Dr. Doom but the director didn't have what it takes to tap into the essence of the characters. They were watered down.

I was waiting for lines like this "YOU SHALL ALL BOW DOWN BEFORE DOOM" (third person Doom is amazing):doom:

ya. the 2 FF movies will always fall in under the category of movies I like, but would like to change. (I recently traded my copies of those dvd's for my lil bros copy of x2) I'm kinda gettin the feeling that that's where dragonball is heading.

Ya X-men, FF and Daredevil were movies that I wish were so much better.

3 more weeks, ive been following this movie since the 1st piece of news i only started watching DBZ August 07, 1 month before the news came about, which may be why im not hating on this as much as others.

Still im a massive fan and i just hope the trailer is good, which knowing Fox movies it probably will be.

I was psyched for the movie back when fox said they were gonna make one in 2003. Its been a looong 5 years.

correction : people will wait a long time for this movie....cuz let's face it this project is a joke

Rearrange these words to make a sentance.

To conclusions seen jumping trailer you`ve before stop even the.

Take your time.

lol.

some people don't need to smell or taste crap in order to know that it's crap. not saying this movie will be crap but it's just an analogy. many people who have been following this production have enough knowledge of how the movie industry works to see that this movie isn't living up to the current standards for most adaptations.

yeah say whatever you want to somehow make yourself sound wise and intelligent in judging a film you have seen only a shred of official info on. the amount of info released by fox is not enough to make a balanced judgement from.

i'm not trying to sound wise or intelligent...i'm just telling it like it is. when you watch someone make a painting you don't have to wait until it's finished to get an idea of how it's going to turn out. when you see someone make a meal you don't have to wait until you taste it to know if it will be good or not. movies are no different. if you know what to look for then you don't have to actually see the movie or even a trailer to predict how it's going to turn out. everyone keeps saying wait for the trailer, but there has been enough info and pictures released for some to know that this film is not a proper adaptation. it's a fast, half-assed job by Fox and co. in order to make a quick buck. if one needs a trailer in order to figure that out then they're simply not paying attention to the production. again...not trying to sound high and mighty, but that's just how it is.

we have a couple of pics and rumors. Thats not like watching someone painting thats like hearing from the sister of the painter`s friend about how the painting is going. Unless you are on the set every morning i can`t fathom how you could possibly have a good enough view of the film to make this judgement. I`m thinking you just decided you didn`t like the film for some reason, maybe you don`t like goku`s hair or that roshi ain`t bald or that krillin ain`t in it. I don`t know obviously from the small amount of pics we have seen you decided it wasn`t for you.

Thats fine just don`t try and make out though that the only legitimate opinion of an intelligent is to hate the movie before seeing any trailer. You uses your opinion as if it is fact which if nothing else just annoys the hell out of me.

we have more than just "a couple of pics and rumors"...and i'd say it's more like getting a glimpse of the painting from time to time or getting a whiff of that meal that's being cooked.

my judgement came from following the production ever since it actually started. Fox sat on the rights for years until Transformers came out and they saw that a kids cartoon could make a $#!+load of money. that's when they started looking at their own properties and saw that they could possibly do the same with Dragonball. so they fast tracked the movie into production thinking they could just drop some money and have a great turn out this summer (2008). then they realized that they were outclassed this year by other movies and decided to push it to a date when they thought nothing big was coming out.

you don't have to be on the set every morning in order to get a good idea of what's going on. you just have to pay attention to the available news.

individually, i can deal with those things but all together they form a bigger problem...which is basically that they didn't have enough time to prepare tackling a movie that's as tricky and hard to make into live action as Dragon Ball is.

i don't like using labels...so i'm not going to label anyone as an intelligent or an ignorant. i will, however, say that if you can't see that this movie has been rushed or half-assed that you haven't been paying attention to the production or just don't want to admit it. i'm not saying that it's a bad thing or something to be ashamed of, but again...that's just how it is. despite you not liking people passing off their opinions as fact (i don't either)...Fox fast tracking this movie into production is a fact.

Hmm opinion.

Yes dragonball probably got the go ahead because of transformers but that is not damning in and of itself. Movies like Kingdom of Heaven and 300 got made because of Gladiator or Lord of the Rings but that doesn`t stop them from being well made films. You can say the same for many of the decent superhero movies ushered in by the success of blade and x-men.

I think x3 proved that if fox wanted a riushed production for summer 2008 they could have got it. The delay makes me think that in fact there is a greater chance of it being good.

Also i would say that lathough the interference of fox could have a detrimental effect on the movie the involvement of steven chow and james masters could easily offset that. Kung fu hustle is one of my favorite movies and if he brings just a tenth of that to the table the film will be great.

Even more opinion. And with barely any evidence that is fancy.

Thats amazing. How can you say that you don`t like to label people or tom pick or choose who is intelligent or ignorant but then you launch into a big speech about how right you are. That is just classic.

I see what you are saying about the film may be being rushed but i just can`t imagine that the director of kung fu hustle would be happy with producing a film that was just a rushed meal ticket for fox. Explain why he would be playing ball with fox if the film was a quick buck rush job?

I dont think it was THAT rushed, they got the rights in 2002, and Fox bought the script 2005, director 2007.

Filming lasted a few months, its gonna have 1 year of post production too.
