Goku grew up in the wild, with only his Grandfather teaching him. That's how it should've been in the movie. But it seems you're liking the Hollywood change intended for the crowd of like minded people like you.

i totally agree. they shouldnt have changed the origins of goku. it made him who he is. he has a great appreciation for nature and that's part of why he protects the earth

Well, I think you guys are assuming a change that probably isn't there. Especially if the insider is correct.

It hasn't changed my opinion one bit. They style of action is more or less what I was expecting and it looks pretty ordinary to me. There's nothing in it I haven't seen before.

This is a teenage high school film and they called it Dragonball.

after seeing the trailer, even though i thought it looked okay, it made me even more depressed that we're not getting a bigger, beefier movie. i wanted to jump out of my seat and cry tears of joy if i ever saw a teaser for a live action Dragon Ball flick. however, i'm left with a feeling of utter "meh"...

that's the thing though...i don't think ANY movie should be made with the mindset of turning it into a series of movies unless it were thoroughly planned out that way from the beginning (LotR). even if this movie gets a sequel, many of the problems that plague this production will be transferred to the sequel.
